Travelodge Opens Seven Hotels This Month-Four Being in London Making the Hotel Chain the Capital's Largest Hotel Brand at the Olympics

This month Travelodge is opening seven hotels with four of the sites being located in London, making the budget hotel chain the largest hotelier in the capital for the Olympic Games. At a combined investment value of GBP 36 million, these new openings (in Balham, Enfield, ExCel and Woolwich) will mean that Travelodge has 54 hotels in London (7,024 rooms) and has hit the target it set three years ago of becoming the largest hotelier for the start of the Olympic Games.

Radisson Blu Edwardian is definitely a hotel group with a sense of humour; a delicate wit, you might say, bringing a gentle smile to the face rather than a belly-laugh or a chortle - but still a sense of humour that many hotels don’t possess. This sense of playfulness is evident in the design of the same group’s Guildford hotel as well as in the quirky decoration of its Mercer Street Hotel, which as far as we know is the only luxury hotel in Covent Garden with its own sheep mascot. So I already had quite high expectations on my recent tour of the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow.
