Matthew Kajdan has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Westin Jackson

Wischermann Partners is thrilled to announce the appointment of Chef Matthew Kajdan as Executive Chef for The Westin Jackson, scheduled to open in early August 2017. With more than 15 years of experience working in the restaurant industry, most recently at Jackson’s Parlor Market, Chef Matthew will oversee Estelle, a modern wine bar & bistro, and the entire food and beverage operation at the hotel, reinforcing The Westin Jackson’s mission to boost travel and tourism in downtown Jackson. Chef Matthew is joining The Westin Jackson team after five years at Parlor Market. As the Executive Chef at Parlor, Matthew brought a new Southern menu with progressive ideas and local products in a farm to table atmosphere.

Mike Burton has been appointed as General Manager at The Westin Jackson

Wischermann Partners is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mike Burton as General Manager of The Westin Jackson, set to open in late summer of 2017. With more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Burton will oversee all aspects of property management of the newly constructed hotel and reinforce The Westin Jackson’s mission to boost travel and tourism in downtown Jackson and transform every guest’s stay into a revitalizing experience.A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Burton most recently served as General Manager of The Westin Chicago Northwest in Itasca, IL. While there, Burton managed $14 million in renovations of guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public space.Previously, Burton was Hotel Manager of Sheraton Dallas Hotel, the largest hotel in the Starwood Hotels & Resorts portfolio, where he managed the $12 million South Tower renovation and led the hotel to its first AAA Four Diamond rating in 2012. As Director of Operations at The Westin Galleria in Dallas, TX, Burton oversaw the $95 million complete hotel renovation and earned the 2009 Starwood Hotels & Resorts North America Hotel of the Year Award and the 2011 Westin Hotels & Resorts North America Hotel of the Year Award. Currently a member of Marriott General Manager’s Advisory Board, Burton is one of only six people representing Westin Hotels & Resorts out of 46 General Managers serving on the board.

Marcus G. Glover has been appointed as General Manager at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino

Mr. Glover will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the resort while providing strategic direction and leadership. With more than a decade of experience in the gaming and hospitality industry, he has designed and developed properties from the ground up in new gaming jurisdictions, as well as held responsibility for project management, government relations and labor relations.

Niklas Rytterstrom has been named General Manager at Gold Strike Casino Resort

Rytterstrom began his career with MGM Resorts International in 1996 at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. He later moved to San Francisco and became the Assistant Front Office Manager at the Mark Hopkins Inter-Continental Hotel. Rytterstrom returned to MGM Resorts International as Assistant Hotel Manager at Bellagio where he helped the property achieve the prestigious AAA Five Diamond award. He has also held positions as Front Office Manager and Hotel Manager at the Mirage.

Sean Byers has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Garden Inn Jackson Downtown

Sean Byers, who formerly served as general manager of downtown Baton Rouge’s historic Hilton Capitol Center, is taking the same position at the Hilton Garden Inn Jackson Downtown in the historic King Edward building, announced Gary Gutierrez, president of HRI Lodging, an affiliate of HRI Properties (HRI), the lead developer and majority owner of the King Edward. Byers started at the Hilton Capitol Center in June 2006 and was originally responsible for pre-opening hiring and training of all front office and housekeeping managers and associates. He earned a promotion to assistant general manager in March 2007 and ultimately general manager in December 2007. Before moving to Baton Rouge, Byers worked at Hilton properties in Houston, Texas. He also worked at the Hotel Galvez in Galveston, TX, a Wyndham Historic Hotel & Spa also a AAA Four-Diamond resort, where he was selected to serve on the committee to write guest service standards for the newly created Wyndham Historic Hotel Division.
