Daniel Lewellin has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago

Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago, the first hotel to open under Hyatt’s new Hyatt Centric lifestyle brand aimed at modern explorers, has hired Daniel Lewellin as director of sales and marketing. Karen McGuigan, general manager of Hyatt Centric the Loop Chicago, made the announcement. In focusing on corporate, entertainment, sports, tour and travel markets, Lewellin has progressively advanced his career through a series of sales management positions at high- volume, full-service hotels locally. He most recently served as a senior sales manager at the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront.

Vik Khokhar has been appointed as Director of event planning at The JW Marriott Chicago

Khokhar has spent the last four years at the Dolce Hotels and Resorts, now part of Wyndham Hotel Group, where he started as the director of operations for the historic Seaview Golf Resort in New Jersey. In a short time, he was promoted to an assistant general manager, where he was a valuable contributor in redefining the brand. Additionally, Khokhar worked to establish standards for inspiring meetings and special events. Before his work with Dolce Hotels and Resorts, he also worked at other hotel properties, including The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, Ballantyne Resort in Charlotte and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in St. Louis.

Michael Vaughn has been appointed as Executive Chef at Waldorf Astoria Chicago

The Waldorf Astoria Chicago announced today that Michael Vaughn will lead the culinary team as Executive Chef. Vaughn, a Chicago native, will oversee all conceptualization and creation of cuisine at Balsan, the hotel's casually elegant bistro and at the cozy and sophisticated Bernard's Bar. In addition, Chef Vaughn will also lead the culinary charge on in-room dining and spa cuisine at the Waldorf Astoria Spa & Health Club.

Matt Drusch has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Pheasant Run Resort

Matt Drusch has joined the Pheasant Run Resort & Spa as Director of Sales and Marketing according to general manager, Charles Shirk. As a Certified Hospitality Sales Professional, Drusch will oversee a team of 11 employees and plans to develop new business growth opportunities for the resort located less than an hour from downtown Chicago in historic St. Charles.

Stacey Nadolny has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Partner at HVS

Stacey Nadolny, an HVS Senior Vice President and Partner with experience on hundreds of hotel and resort assignments throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, has been assigned to lead the firm’s consulting and valuation division in Chicago.Stacey, a graduate of Cornell’s School of Hospitality Administration, worked at Hillstone Restaurant Group in Chicago before joining HVS in 2007. Just prior to her current position, she led the appraisal team operating out of the HVS satellite office in Columbus, Ohio. Stacey has written widely on major regional markets including Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Detroit. She regularly represents HVS at industry conferences, most recently speaking on a hotel valuation panel at the 2015 Hunter Hotel Conference.

Lea Rodriguez has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hotel Lincoln (Joie de Vivre)

Andy Finn has been named Hotel Manager at Palmer House Hilton

Mark Huntley has been appointed as regional vice president and general manager at Swissotel Chicago

FRHI Hotels & Resorts appoints Mark Huntley as regional vice president and general manager of Swissôtel Chicago. Huntley will continue to be responsible for the overall operations, performance, and strategic direction for hotels based in the Central U.S. & Mexico Region and will carry out the responsibilities of general manager for Swissôtel Chicago. Huntley joined the company in 1986 and held several progressive positions over the years, including general manager of the Fairmont San Francisco and The Savoy, A Fairmont Managed Hotel. Most recently, Huntley was the regional vice president & general manager, Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park.

Nathan Kartsen has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at The Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center

A native of Owego, Illinois, Kartsen graduated from Roosevelt University in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science in Hospitality and Tourism. Kartsen pursued his first role as a professional hotelier as an Events/Convention Sales Manager role with Hiltons of Chicagoland (Hilton Chicago, Palmer House Hilton, Hilton OHare). From there, he went on to become the Assistant Director of Sales at the Holiday Inn Select in Naperville, on his way to becoming their Director of Sales. After excelling in sales generation at the Holiday Inn, Kartsen took a position as Director of Sales & Marketing at the Hyatt Lisle, and then at Millennium Knickerbocker, before being recruited by Portfolio Hotels & Resorts as the Director of Sales & Marketing at the Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center. Kartsen most recently became the newest board member of the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau.

As director of operations, Barbary will be responsible for developing and implementing procedures and strategies that will support the hotel’s customer service and profitability goals and work closely with the finance, sales, revenue management and human resource teams to ensure seamless operations. Prior to joining Hyatt The Loop Chicago, Barbary directed operations at the Doubletree Suites by Hilton Chicago and is highly knowledgeable about the city’s hospitality market.

Aine Haley has been appointed as Director of Revenue Management at Hyatt The Loop Chicago

Hyatt The Loop Chicago, scheduled to open in early 2015 in the heart of Chicago’s financial district, announced the appointment of director of revenue and Aine Haley. Haley most recently served as area revenue analyst for Chicago Hyatt Revenue Cluster. Her past positions, predominantly with Hyatt properties, include assistant revenue manager, reservations manager and front office supervisor, equipping her with more than 10 years of experience in revenue, reservations and front desk systems.

Michael Platt has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel Arista Chicago

Benchmark Hospitality International has appointed Michael Platt General Manager for Hotel Arista, a Personal Luxury Resorts & Hotels property located in Naperville, Illinois, near Chicago. Greg Champion, Benchmark’s executive vice president and COO, made the announcement. Previously, Michael Platt was general manager for the Viceroy Santa Monica Hotel, a boutique property located in Los Angeles. Prior to this he held leadership positions for Hilton Hotels at properties in New York City, Puerto Rico and Southern California.

Martin Knaubert has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago (A Four Seasons Hotel)

Born and raised in Saarlouis, Germany, Knaubert spent much of his childhood experimenting with food, so it was no wonder that his life took a culinary path. Now, he is gracing the kitchen of The Ritz-Carlton Chicago with his expertise as the Executive Chef. The Ritz-Carlton Chicago will be his 8th hotel and 4th assignment as Executive Chef with Four Seasons properties. Chef Knaubert hopes to bring his diverse experience to the city of Chicago. He has been able to gain this perspective through his extensive experience and looks forward to bringing his unique taste to the city of Chicago. Even with this gained expertise, Knaubert knows that culinary taste can sometimes be lost in translation and these talents do not always travel from one destination to the other. Chef Knaubert knows that Chicago has its own unique taste and he looks forward to discovering it.

Rick Remington has been appointed as Food and Beverage Director at Pheasant Run Resort & Spa

Rick Remington has joined the management team at Pheasant Run Resort & Spa as food and beverage director, according to Charlie Shirk, general manager for the 473-room resort and expo center located in St. Charles. Remington, a 30-year food and beverage pro, now oversees a team of 140 employees who serve convention services, culinary and catering operations for the 38,000 square foot expo center, on-site meeting space, and dining outlets including Jambalaya, Harvest, poolside and golf course guest options.

Rick George has been named Partner at Hotel Assets Group, LLC (Hotel AG)

Hotel Assets Group, LLC (Hotel AG), announced today that Rick George has joined the firm and will open the Hotel AG Chicago office. A graduate of Cornell University, Rick joined HREC Investment Advisors (HREC IA) in 2003 as a principal owner and partner in charge of the Chicago and Los Angeles offices. During his tenure at HREC IA, Rick helped build and train the human capital infrastructure of the firm, while focusing on transactions from the lower to the upper mid-market segments, as well as capital markets production and debt placement. In addition to revenue production, Rick was also responsible for the macro management of the HREC IA brand, national client marketing efforts, technology, and personnel management in the field.

Patti Koehn has been appointed as General Manager at Kinzie Hotel

Koehn hails from both large scale and boutique hotels throughout the Chicagoland area. Beginning in 1986, she was appointed as the Director of Rooms Division at the Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center where she provided leadership to staff, budgeting, forecasting, and customer satisfaction. From here she moved into a management track at Arlington Park Hilton, Arlington Heights, in 1993, as the Assistant General Manager. Continuing in this role at the Radisson Hotel & Suites, Chicago in 1994 and General Manager at the Talbott Hotel, Chicago in 1997, she successfully oversaw both an $8 million and $15 million renovation. Additionally, Koehn led the hotel from a 3-star to a 4-star rating during her time at Talbott.

Stefan Mühle has been named General Manager at Oak Brook Hills Resort

After graduating from Washington State University, where he earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Hotel & Restaurant Management and Business Administration, Mühle moved quickly in impacting the hospitality industry. Starting on a management track at Drake Hotel in Chicago and leaving as the Director of Catering Sales, he gained quality experience to lead other properties to award-winning status including the Orchard and Orchard Garden Hotel in San Francisco, the Harvest Inn in the Napa Valley from 2001 to 2011, and Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa in Sausalito, CA in 2011.
