Rhoderika Miranda serves as Senior Catering Sales Manager with nearly two decades of hospitality industry experience, Miranda previously served as Senior Account Executive at Wailea Beach Marriott Resort and Spa on Maui. Before that, Miranda held roles of Executive Meeting Manager at the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel and Catering Sales Event Manager for the Radisson Hotel West Los Angeles and the Mariana Del Rey Hotel in California. Miranda holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from John Carroll University.

Leon Bolivar has been appointed as Marketing Manager at Pacific Beach Hotel

Leon Bolivar serves as Marketing Manager where he manages the strategic planning and execution of all hotel marketing and promotions initiatives and projects. With a seasoned marketing background, Bolivar previously served as a Senior Digital Advertising Specialist at Hawaii News Now and before that accumulated nearly 10 years of experience as Global Marketing Manager at Springer Science + Business Media and Marketing Manager for RED |Sony Music Entertainment, both in New York City. Bolivar holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Northeastern University.

Alexandra Nagelvoort has been appointed as Assistant Director of Finance at Pacific Beach Hotel

Alexandra Nagelvoort serves as Assistant Director of Finance where she is responsible for the day-to-day finances of the property. With more than eight years of finance experience in the hospitality industry, Nagelvoort was previously an Accounting Manager II at Aqua-Aston Hospitality in Honolulu where she oversaw the Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club on Oahu and provided support to Kauai Beach Hotel. Nagelvoort holds bachelors of science degrees in Management and Information Technology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Maui’s Newest Resort to Open April 2017, Two and a Half Months Ahead of Schedule

The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas, situated on 16 oceanfront acres of North Kā"anapali Beach, today announced that it will open on April 15, 2017, and is currently confirming reservations for May 1, 2017. The resort, whose name "nanea" means relaxation in Hawaiian, will provide its guests with luxurious repose rooted in ancient Hawaiian culture. Having received the necessary permits for the first two buildings late last year, the property will reach this milestone two and a half months ahead of schedule.

Fred Findlen has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort

The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa appointed Fred Findlen as its new GM. A veteran of Hyatt hotels with a wide-ranging background in the hotel industry, Findlen brings 31 years of hospitality experience following numerous management positions held at Hyatt properties in the United States and international properties. Findlen has been with Hyatt since 1985, most recently serving as GM at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino.

Yolanda Cardiff has joined Hyatt Centric Waikīkī Beach as Director of Sales and Marketing

Kōkua Hospitality today announced the appointment of Yolanda “Yolee” Cardiff as director of sales and marketing for the Hyatt Centric Waikīkī Beach. Cardiff will be responsible for all aspects of the hotel’s sales, marketing, and public relations efforts. Cardiff brings a strong background in the global hospitality industry to the Hyatt Centric Waikīkī Beach’s leadership team. She previously served as the global account executive for American Express Global Business Travel, where she specialized in risk management, hotel site selection, and contract negotiation. Prior to that, she served as senior director of global sales for Millennium Hotels and Resorts and director of global sales at Meliá Hotels International, one of the leading hotel companies in the world.

Will Caraway has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at OHANA Hotels by Outrigger brand

Before joining Outrigger, Caraway ran and managed the visitor exit program for Shell Vacations Resort on Hawaii Island, Kauai, Oahu and Maui and was involved in the opening of a Canadian resort for Shell. He worked at the Embassy Vacation Resorts property on Kauai as director of owner services, escrow officer and exit program manager. While at Embassy, Caraway worked closely with reservations, room sales, front desk managers and general managers on a regular basis for budgets, accounting and sales and marketing. He also had his own businesses in consulting, property management and tourism.

Charles Young has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Centric Waikīkī Beach

Kōkua Hospitality today announced that Charles Young has been selected as general manager of Hyatt Centric Waikīkī Beach. In his new role, Young will spearhead all hotel operations, overseeing 230 upscale, oversized rooms and suites at the first Hyatt Centric-branded hotel in the state of Hawai‘i.Young has more than 20 years of hospitality experience and an extensive portfolio in hospitality management. He has overseen several mid- to large-scale properties across the globe in locations such as Hawai‘i, Australia and Florida. He has also helped open a number of hotels, most notably O‘ahu’s own Vive Hotel Waikīkī. Young earned his degree in hotel and restaurant management from Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School. An active community and industry leader, Young is also on the board of the Hawai‘i Lodging and Tourism Association - O‘ahu Chapter, serving as a member of the organization’s government affairs committee.

The 175-room hotel is scheduled to open this fall and is owned by Ka Makana Ali‘i Hotel LLC and managed by Aqua-Aston Hospitality. The hotel will be the only focused-service hotel offering budget friendly, quality accommodations with Hilton Honors program benefits, free hot breakfast and free Wi-Fi in West O‘ahu.

Debi Bishop has been appointed as Managing Director at Hilton Hawaiian Village

Hilton Worldwide announced today that Debi Bishop has been named managing director of its flagship resort in Hawai‘i, Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. Bishop brings with her 30 years of industry experience as she takes the helm of the company’s largest hotel, which encompasses 22 beachfront acres and 2,860 guest rooms effective April 1. “I’ve been impressed watching Debi successfully develop and lead our team at Hilton Waikoloa Village over the past seven years,” said Jerry Gibson, area vice president, Hilton Hawaii. “We’re lucky she’ll remain in our Hilton Hawaii ohana as the new leader at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.” Bishop served as general manager of Hilton Waikoloa since 2008. During her tenure at Hilton Waikoloa Village, the resort achieved numerous awards of excellence, including the Hilton Worldwide Genius of the AND; Hilton Worldwide Sales American Summit Breakaway; Best Use of Social Media; Best Tactical Marketing Revenue Generating and Most Improved Profit. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Big Island Visitors Bureau, Hawaii Island Chapter of the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association, Kohala Coast Resort Association, Waikoloa Beach Resort Conference, and Waikoloa Resort Association. She is also on the advisory board for University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Business and Economics. Prior to joining the Hilton Waikoloa Village, Bishop served as managing director of Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Bishop also served as vice president of sales for Interstate Hotels & Resorts and worked with MeriStar Hotels & Resorts in several capacities, including vice president of operations and director of operations, Atlanta.

David Givens has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Waikoloa Village

Givens joins the hotel from Interstate Hotels & Resorts, where he was vice president of operations, overseeing multiple branded properties and ownership groups. Prior to that, he held the dual role of vice president operations and general manager for Interstate’s China Division (seven properties) and managed the 850-room DoubleTree by Hilton Shanghai – Pudong. He successfully took the former Sofitel property through a brand change to become the first DoubleTree by Hilton franchised hotel in China. Prior to moving to China, Givens was the general manager of multiple hotels throughout the United States including Hilton Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. ​ With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Givens is a hands-on, results-oriented, award-winning manager. During his tenure at DoubleTree by Hilton Shanghai – Pudong, he received the Most Improved Quality Award and at Hilton Waikiki Beach he received the Best Overall Accommodations Award. Givens is a graduate of Cornell University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in hotel administration. He believes in giving back to the community and has been on the board of directors for organizations such as the Shanghai Hotel & Lodging Association, Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association, Waikiki Community Center and Waikiki Improvement Association.
