AJ Capital Partners plans to open Graduate Hotel in Columbus, Ohio

AJ Capital acquired the Bollinger Tower, formerly an affordable housing complex and now vacant, on North High Street in the Short North neighborhood of Columbus, proximate to both Ohio State University and downtown Columbus. The property will begin renovations in spring 2018 to be converted into a hotel with 171 guestrooms, meeting and event space, two food and beverage outlets and ground floor retail space.

Michael Dunbar has been appointed as General Manager at 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati

Stacy O'Reilly has been appointed as General Manager at Embassy Suites by Hilton Akron Canton

Michael Vito has been appointed as Regional Director of Operations at Midas Hospitality, LLC

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Michael is a 25+ year hospitality veteran who brings both branded and independent hotel expertise to the group. Michael began his career with Winegardner & Hammons. Michael spent much of his career working for IRMCO properties, a renowned Real Estate company from Chicago, where he managed The Seneca Hotel & Suites and assisted with the Belden Stratford hotel. Both of these properties were vintage mixed use, independent boutique hotels in Downtown Chicago and Lincoln Park, respectively. The last several years he work for Remington hotels, managing the Silversmith Hotel & Suites in the famed Jeweler's Row district of Chicago and the Embassy Suites Las Vegas. He was a member of Remington's President's Club, which recognizes their top performing General Managers and hotels

Halley Karas has been appointed as General Manager at The Westin Columbus

The Westin Columbus is pleased to welcome Halley Karas as the new General Manager of the downtown hotel owned and operated by Ultima Hospitality. Halley comes to Ohio from Illinois where she was the Director of Operations at the Double Tree by Hilton Chicago North Shore. Halley was responsible for operations of the 369 guest room property. Her focus on team-work and quality service produced outstanding results during her time at the hotel. An excellent leader, Halley regularly assisted on several Task Force teams. Between 2012 and 2013, Halley accepted a number of assignments with Ultima Hospitality sister properties. These roles included Interim General Manager of the Holiday Inn Mill Valley, Operations Support at the Holiday Inn Countryside and the Sheraton Framingham, and Acquisitions at Double Tree by Hilton Pittsburgh Airport and the Courtyard by Marriot Marlborough. Prior to working with Double Tree, Halley was the Director of Rooms at the Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport, managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts. She led a team of 40 employees fostering a productive and positive work environment. Halley was promoted to Director of Rooms from her position as Front Office Manager. Before beginning her employment with Crowne Plaza, Halley worked for Hyatt Hotels. She spent two years at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in the Rooms Division and Front Office Management and three years at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee as a Front Desk Agent and Concierge. Throughout her tenure, Halley consistently increased room profitability and guest satisfaction scores. Halley attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she majored in Political Science, Pre-Law. She is the two time recipient of the Ultima Hospitality Leadership Award given to individuals who demonstrate outstanding results in finance, guest service, efficiency, strategic and organizational development.

Nathan Wood has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Westin Columbus

Nathan comes to Ohio from the Sheraton Omaha in Nebraska. As Director of Sales and Marketing, he led his team with great success.His team consistently exceeded their sales and revenue goals and increased Guest Experience Scores. Nathan began his hospitality career in 2003 in Kansas City. Throughout his time in Kansas he worked in Sales and Marketing for Four Points, Sheraton and Hampton Inn & Suites. He was the Director of Sales during the conversion of Clarion Kansas City Airport Hotel to Four Points by Sheraton Kansas City. Nathan was also General Manager of a 139 room all suite property owned by Radisson. In 2012 he moved to Nebraska to work as Director of Sales &Marketing at Sheraton Omaha where he spent nearly 2 years building the Sheraton Brand in the area. He joined The Westin Columbus in May 2014.

Brandon Maynard has been promoted to General Manager at the Homewood Suites Milford

Brandon Maynard has been promoted to be the general manager at the Homewood Suites Milford in Milford, Ohio. Maynard started his career in White Lodging in 2008 as an operations supervisor at the SpringHill Suites Louisville before being promoted to the cluster sales coordinator for outside sales at the Residence Inn, Courtyard and SpringHill Suites in 2010. Later that year, he became the front office manager at the Courtyard Louisville before being named the assistant general manager at that hotel. In 2011, he was named the Rookie Manager of the Year. Most recently, Maynard was the general manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites Indianapolis.

Mark Anderson has been appointed as General Manager at Westin Cleveland Downtown Hotel

Sage Hospitality, one of the top hotel management and investment companies in the U.S., is excited to announce the general manager of the new Westin Cleveland Downtown hotel, opening May 2014. Mark Anderson will be leading the hotel in operations and guest services after its $64 million renovation. Anderson started in his role on December 11, 2013 and has begun ramping up operations for the 484-room, contemporary, art-driven hotel. Anderson has experience with Starwood Hotels & Resorts in both the Sheraton and Westin brands as well as Hilton Hotels. Most recently, he was the general manager for the 1053-room Boston Park Plaza Hotel and Towers. The Westin Cleveland Downtown is located near the Cleveland Convention Center and will require experience in a high-demand environment, which Anderson is suited for. He has served several boards including the CVB of Greater Boston and non-profit, buildOn.
