Nico Hallwass has been appointed as Director of Operations at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa

Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, the AAA Five Diamond oceanfront property, known for its philosophy of “new-fashioned” Palm Beach luxury, announces the appointment of Nico Hallwass as Director of Operations. The seasoned professional holds more than 15 years of international hospitality experience and will oversee day-to-day operations of the rooms and housekeeping divisions, guest services and PBX operations of the 309-room resort. In addition, he will act as General Manager in the absence of the Managing Director. Hallwass joins the resort’s management team ahead of an exciting 2015/2016 winter season that will unveil fresh experiences and partnerships.

Marco Perry has been appointed as Managing Director at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort

Noble House Hotels & Resorts proudly announces the appointment of Marco Perry as Managing Director of LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort -- the only true beachfront, boutique resort on Florida's Gulf Coast. In this role, Perry will be responsible for managing the hotel's day-to-day success, overseeing all operational aspects of the 189-room property and private club, including everything from sales and marketing, to food and beverage, while maximizing company revenue. Perry brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry to LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort. Most recently, having worked at Riviera Palm Springs as the General Manager, where he oversaw all aspects of operations, including all 398 rooms, food and beverage and the on-property spa. Prior to that position, he served at multiple notable hotels, from The Setai in Miami Beach, Fla., to Soho House in N.Y. Perry, who grew up in the hospitality industry, brings an international flair to the table. He was the previous partner of both the critically acclaimed Opus One in Munich, Germany, and Marketplace, a farm-to-table establishment in Woburn, England.

Adonay Tafur has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Dutch at W South Beach

Tafur, who originally joined the resort’s dynamic food and beverage team in March 2014 as sous chef, quickly rose through the kitchen ranks in the Miami outpost of acclaimed Chef Andrew Carmellini’s NYC roots-inspired American restaurant. Chef Tafur (29), a Brazilian native, moved to Colombia at a young age before coming to the United States as a teenager. The aspiring toque began his culinary career in Spain, honing his craft at a series of internships at Michelin star restaurants, before continuing to perfect his skills at Gotham Steak House at Fontainebleau Miami Beach and later Gotham Bar and Grill in New York City under culinary giant and James Beard award winning Chef Alfred Portale.

Prior to his new role at Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach, Wormull was Senior Director, Luxury Brand Performance Management – Americas for Hilton Worldwide Luxury & Lifestyle Brands, working directly with area leaders and management companies to develop and implement successful and measurable programs for Hilton Worldwide luxury brands, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts and Conrad Hotels & Resorts.

Heather Mitchell has been appointed as Sales Manager at Gilchrist Club

Benchmark Hospitality International, a U.S.-based hospitality management company, has named Heather Mitchell sales manager for the Gilchrist Club, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located in Trenton, Florida, near Gainsville. Bob Edwards, General Manager, made the announcement.An award-winning sales professional, Heather Mitchell was previously corporate wellness and membership sales manager for Gainesville Health and Fitness in Jonesville, Florida. Prior to this, she was customer service manager for Digital Broadcast of Gainesville, Florida. Ms. Mitchell is also owner and a therapist for Massage Workz of Gainesville.

Jessica Milton has been appointed as Regional Director of Public Relations, Florida at Benchmark Hospitality

Benchmark Hospitality International has named Jessica Milton regional director of public relations-Florida. John Davies, Benchmark’s vice president of marketing, made the announcement.Jessica Milton comes to Benchmark Hospitality International with 12 years of public relations experience, including time invested within the hospitality and travel industries. She most recently served as senior director for the Miami office of the New York City-based communications agency, Harrison & Shriftman. In this position, Ms. Milton worked on high profile hotel launches in Miami, Puerto Rico, and New York. Additionally, she has worked on projects for major media brands including Elle Decor and Harper’s BAZAAR, fashion labels Chanel and Prada, and multi-layered events like the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship.

Jason Kern has been promoted to General Manager at The Shores Resort & Spa

Hospitality Ventures Management Group has announced Jason Kern as the new general manager of The Shores Resort & Spa, the only AAA Four-Diamond oceanfront resort in Central Florida. Effective immediately, Kern will assume executive responsibilities for the 212-room property, where he has been Director of Sales since February 2012. Prior to joining The Shores, Kern spent eight years at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla. as director of sales and marketing, and, prior to that, director of national accounts and director of group sales. Kern began his hospitality career at Universal Orlando Resort, where he was an opening team member in Resort Event Sales and Services for Islands of Adventure and CityWalk, and was also on the Resort Sales opening team for Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, and Royal Pacific Resort. An avid surfer and golfer, Kern resides in Flagler Beach with his wife and two young daughters.

Gonzalo Rivera has been appointed as executive chef at Boca Beach Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in South Florida, effective immediately. In his position Chef Rivera will be responsible for the food and beverage operations of the 212-room oceanfront hotel, which include Sea Grille, Beaches Restaurant & Bar, Ocean Bar and on-site catering services.

John Luke has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Orlando

John Luke has been appointed general manager at the 1,400-room Hilton Orlando connected to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, according to Ted Ratcliff, senior vice president operations eastern North America for Hilton Worldwide. Luke comes from Hilton Minneapolis and will take over operations for the AAA Four Diamond Award® winning hotel, effective June 29, 2015.
