Richard Boyer has been appointed as Executive Chef at The American Club Resort

Kohler Co. is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Boyer as Executive Chef of The American Club Resort. Located in Kohler, Wisconsin, the resort is one of only 36 hotels in the world to hold both Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond distinctions, and is also internationally-known for its Championship golf at Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run.

Marcus Hotel's Peggy Williams-Smith has been named Recipient of the 2012 Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame Peak Performer Award at Junior Achievement of Wisconsin

Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS), today announced that Peggy Williams-Smith, senior director, catering and event operations, will receive the 2012 Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame Peak Performer Award presented by Junior Achievement of Wisconsin. The award is designed to identify and recognize a Metro Milwaukee individual who has shown excellence in his or her field, along with a commitment to the community. Williams-Smith has been with the company for 14 years and was selected to receive this prestigious award based on several factors, including her success with Marcus Hotels & Resorts, her professionalism, level-headedness under intense pressure and a relentless commitment to finding new ways to do business. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association, TEMPO Milwaukee and UCP of Southeastern Wisconsin. Williams-Smith also dedicates her time to numerous community organizations and non-profits, including Junior Achievement, United Way, Best Buddies and the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF). She had an instrumental role in the company’s 75th anniversary celebrations and activities in 2010, which resulted in charitable donations of over $150,000.

Heather Stetzer has been appointed as Director of Sales at HotelRED

Stetzer was with Marriott Madison West in Middleton for four years, serving as corporate sales manager for the 292-room property that also has 50,000 square feet of meeting space. In the years immediately prior, she was group sales manager for a large Sheraton hotel in Pennsylvania. Her degree in business administration is from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.

Jason Ilstrup has been named General Manager at HotelRED

Hotel owner and president of Red Hospitality LLC, Michael Erikson, announced today that Jason Ilstrup, formerly with Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee, has been named general manager. Ilstrup spent the last three years in positions of increasing responsibility at The Iron Horse Hotel, a 100-guestroom property in downtown Milwaukee that was named Boutique Hotel of the Year in 2010. Ilstrup coordinated the hotel’s “Your Desires” guest preference concierge program and also oversaw the rooms division. Before that, he spent a year in Madison at the Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club. Before transitioning into a career in hospitality, Ilstrup served as a congressional aide and chief legislative aide, having earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota. He also spent several years as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa.

Chris Anderson has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing And Brand Development at Marcus® Hotels & Resorts

Anderson joined Marcus Hotels & Resorts in 2007 as vice president, sales. He was promoted to vice president, sales, marketing and revenue strategy in 2009. In this position, his responsibilities included establishing corporate revenue strategy and marketing teams focused on developing growth strategies that maximized all revenue channels, establishing a regional call center and developing overall brand strategies for the company’s hotels, restaurants, spas, golf courses and snow sports. Prior to joining Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Anderson spent 16 years with Marriott International. Most recently, he led the sales and marketing efforts at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, the largest hotel in Georgia. Some of his achievements included managing all aspects of the sales team for the 1,675 room convention hotel, managing the e-commerce, marketing communications and public relations teams, and executing a re-branding plan alongside a $138 million dollar renovation of the hotel. He began his career at Marriott’s Tan-Tar-A resort in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, in 1993, working in convention service and sales. He later became a director of national accounts and director of sales for the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel and Marina in Tampa, Florida.

Robert Y. Dove has been named Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association's 2010 Innkeeper of the Year at The Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association

The Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association (WH&LA) bestowed it’s prestigious “2010 Innkeeper of the Year Award” on Robert Y. Dove, General Manager & Partner, Best Western Bridgewood Resort Hotel & Conference Center in Neenah, Wisconsin at the 2010 Wisconsin Lodging Conference and Trade Show held at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin October 25-26.

Peter Engel has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer at Marcus Hotels and Resorts

In his new role, he will direct the division’s technology strategy, implementation and operations. Engel joined The Marcus Corporation in 2004 as director of technology. A 30-year veteran of the information technology industry, he comes from a consulting and technology operations background. Prior to joining The Marcus Corporation, he served as president of Aperias Management Services, a consulting firm specializing in information technology and strategic management consulting services. Engel has 15 years of experience in the travel and leisure industry, including serving as chief operating officer for Trisept Solutions, and senior vice president at The Mark Travel Corporation. He is a member of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals and Hotel Technology Next Generation.
