Vanessa Jackson has been appointed as General Manager at Residence Inn New Orleans Downtown

An 11-year Marriott veteran, Vanessa Jackson has taken the reins of the New Orleans hotel. She started her career in the hospitality industry at the age of 16 at Grove Park Home, a retirement residence in her home country of Canada. In 2003, Jackson participated in her first American work experience during an internship at New Orleans Marriott while studying to obtain a Bachelor of Applied Science in Hospitality from Southern New Hampshire University.

Lisa Miller has been appointed as Director of Sales at Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery

The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery, located in New Orleans’ Arts District at the intersection of Tchoupitoulas and Lafayette Streets, has tapped Lisa Miller to lead the hotel’s sales efforts. Miller most recently served as the Senior Business Transient and Travel Industry Sales Manager for the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. Prior to that posting, she worked in sales and operations at Ritz-Carlton properties in Washington, D.C. and New York City and New Orleans.

Jerry Robinson has been appointed as General Manager at Courtyard New Orleans Downtown/Convention Center

Bringing along a host of hospitality experience at properties in the Southeast, Jerry Robinson has been named general manager at Courtyard New Orleans Downtown/Convention Center. Getting his start in the hospitality industry at the age of 16, Robinson worked for his uncle at a Fairfield Inn in his hometown of Corbin, KY. In 2006, he accepted the position of housekeeping supervisor at Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa before graduating from the University of Kentucky in 2007. After graduation, he moved to Louisville, KY as the general manager at a Hampton Inn & Suites. Later that year, he returned to Griffin Gate Marriott as general manager. While in that role, he served as the department head for housekeeping, recreation and laundry. Robinson and his team drove service excellence in housekeeping when Griffin Gate hosted the World Equestrian Games in October 2010. In 2011, Robinson became general manager at Courtyard Lexington North, where he successfully led the hotel through a first-quarter room renovation. Transitioning into life in the Big Easy, Robinson made a move to New Orleans in August 2014 upon accepting a general manager position at Residence Inn New Orleans Downtown, where he served most recently. From successfully improving hotel scores and rankings across the board to leading a host of community service efforts, Robinson is known for his generous spirit and helping hands. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, playing and watching basketball and is a life-long University of Kentucky fan. He married his wife, Annie, in January 2015.

Mischa Moore has been appointed as Regional Revenue Manager at Hotel Equities

Atlanta-based Hotel Equities (HE) added three new Regional Revenue Managers to the firm’s leadership team. Barbara Soucia is based in the Atlanta corporate headquarters’ office, Yanbo Zhu works from the firm’s regional office in Plano, Texas, and Mischa Moore is based in Louisiana. All three report to Drew Salapka, Vice President of Sales & Revenue Generation.

Mohan Koka has been named General Manager at Loews New Orleans Hotel

Loews New Orleans Hotel announces Mohan Koka as the new General Manager. With more than 14 years of experience, most recently with the Loews Atlanta Hotel, he brings strong leadership skills, a proven track record in operations, and knowledge of sales and marketing to the property.Koka began his career as a Management Trainee with the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Upon completion of the program, he joined the Sales Department as an Access Sales Manager, where he specialised in booking and servicing smaller groups. During this time, Koka led a team to create a comprehensive sales proposal format that the brand still uses today.

Will Webre has been appointed as Sales Manager at The Royal Sonesta New Orleans

John Price has been appointed as General Manager at Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery

Rickie Pares Jr. has been appointed as Director of Rooms at Omni Royal Orleans

The elegant French Quarter hotel, the Omni Royal Orleans, has appointed nine-year Omni Hotels & Resorts veteran Rickie L. Pares, Jr., as director of rooms for the seven-story luxury hotel. Pares joins Omni Royal Orleans from the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta, where he was promoted to director of rooms, responsible for the 1,070-guest room hotel connected to Phillips Arena, the George World Congress Center and the College Football Hall of Fame.

Loris Menfi has been named General Manager at Loews New Orleans Hotel

Menfi has spent the last year at Loews Philadelphia Hotel serving as hotel manager, where she was instrumental in the completion of a $25 million hotel renovation and helped lead the hotel to winning the Loews Hotels & Resorts Hotel of the Year Award in 2013. Prior to joining Loews Hotels & Resorts, Menfi spent 18 years with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company where she began as a front office agent and club concierge in 1995 and advanced into front office manager roles, including at the Ritz Carlton New Orleans. She quickly advanced to leadership positions including Director of Housekeeping, Assistant Rooms Executive, Director of Rooms and Executive Assistant Manager at several U.S. hotel properties in the Ritz-Carlton brand. A Cleveland, Ohio, native, Loris attended Kent State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and marketing. In addition to her work at the hotel, Menfi is a member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association. She and her family plan to reside in the Westbank area of New Orleans.

Travis Tague has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt French Quarter

Travis Tague, who has served as director of operations at the Hyatt French Quarter the past two years, has been promoted to general manager of the award-winning hotel, announced Larry Daniels, regional vice president of operations for HRI Lodging (HRIL), which manages the property. A veteran of the hotel industry since 1994, Tague joined HRIL in 2011 as area director of human resources, leading that division of the company for all New Orleans area properties. He was named director of operations at the Hyatt French Quarter in 2012 during the hotel’s $20 million renovation and conversion to the Hyatt flag. Hyatt Hotels Corporation last year awarded HRI Lodging its Best Conversion award for the Hyatt French Quarter.

Dennis Pearse has been appointed as General Manager at Omni Royal Orleans

Pearse comes to Omni Royal Orleans from Dimension Development Company, a Louisiana-based developer, where he was area general manager with direct oversight of Hilton New Orleans on St. Charles Avenue, the Homewood Suites by Hilton New Orleans on Poydras Street, and the Springhill Suites in Baton Rouge. During his eight years with Dimension, he was honored as General Manager of the Year.

Gary Morgenstern has been appointed as General Manager at Maison St. Charles Hotel

Prior to joining the Maison St. Charles, Morgenstern was the Director of Operations/General Manager for the French Quarter Inns Boutique Hotels. He has also worked for Wyndham, Holiday Inn and other brands in his 30-year hospitality career in various leadership positions including Food & Beverage Director, Controller, and Purchasing Director. He has worked with full-service, select-service, and extended stay properties in Chicago and New York. Paul Scott has been appointed as Complex General Manager at Hilton New Orleans Riverside and the DoubleTree by Hilton New Orleans

Scott will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the two hotels located at the epicenter of all great New Orleans attractions including the French Quarter, the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas and Riverwalk Marketplace. A hospitality leader with extensive operational and management capabilities, Scott joins the New Orleans team with more than 35 years of hotel experience.

Scott Jernstrom has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at the New Orleans Marriott

His most recent role was an asset manager at Bethesda Marriott. His efforts resulted in substantial improvement in profits and overall operational performance. In addition, Jernstrom acquired vast experience in hospitality consulting with a focus on improving sales effectiveness and results.

Kevin Butler has been appointed as General Manager at SpringHill Suites by Marriott

Robert Bray has been appointed as General Manager at New Orleans Marriott

Robert Bray has been named general manager of New Orleans Marriott. With over 20 years of experience with Marriott International, Bray brings his knowledge and expertise in hotel operations, food and beverage and sales to the recently renovated French Quarter hotel. In addition to overseeing daily operations at New Orleans Marriott, Bray will serve as the area general manager for the five Marriott properties located within the Big Easy. Bray’s transition to this new role will be smooth given his past New Orleans experience. He previously served as the general manager of the Renaissance Pere Marquette Hotel and the Renaissance Arts, both in New Orleans, from 1999 – 2004. Most recently, Bray was the general manager at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand & Suites complex for seven years.
