Pat Trammell has been appointed as Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront

Most recently, Trammell served as Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Atlanta, one of the largest convention hotels in the southeast and Hyatt’s flagship Regency property. There she oversaw the property’s sales and marketing operations as well as led the “Big Six Hotels” Sales Leadership Committee. She effectively collaborated with Atlanta convention hotels and the Convention and Visitors Bureau to attract groups to downtown Atlanta.

Travis Johnson has been appointed as Vice President of Marketing at TradeWinds Sandpiper Suites

The TradeWinds Island Resorts recently promoted Travis Johnson to vice president of marketing where he will be responsible for all marketing initiatives both inside and outside the company. In this position, he oversees the in-house ad agency, develops the marketing budget, coordinates all community sponsorships and oversees the marketing services, public relations and promotions staff. Johnson, who has been with the TradeWinds for 11 years, most recently served as the general manager for the TradeWinds Sandpiper Suites. Johnson began his career at the TradeWinds as an intern and moved into several roles in the company including director of recreation/activities, guest service manager and director of resort operations/services. A native of Canada, Johnson attended Bemidji State University and graduated with degrees in mass communication and sport management studies. He currently serves on the board of the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce.

Joni Dooley Barkley has been named Member of Visit Florida's Sales Committee at VISIT FLORIDA

Hawks Cay, a premier resort in the Florida Keys, announced today that Director of Sales Joni Dooley Barkley has been elected to serve on the sales committee of VISIT FLORIDA, the state’s official tourism marketing organization. As a committee member, Barkley will provide strategic counsel on all matters related to VISIT FLORIDA’s sales activities, from participating in trade and consumer shows to strengthening tour operator, travel agent and meeting planner relationships. A 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Barkley leads Hawks Cay’s sales team to provide small, midsize and large groups with an experience that goes beyond the meeting and leisure time expectations. Prior to her tenure at Hawks Cay, Barkley was the director of sales and marketing with the Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine and served as the national sales manager for The Ritz Carlton, Palm Beach and Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach. She is a graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Communications with a major in journalism. She is also a Certified Hospitality Sales Professional (CHSP).

Theresa Zupon has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at Longboat Key Club & Resort

Theresa Zupon has been named Director of Human Resources for the Longboat Key Club & Resort located on Longboat Key, Florida. Laurent Filius has joined the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center and Spa as Director of Food and Beverage

Laurent brings more than 20 years of food and beverage experience throughout the U.S. and Caribbean to Hyatt Regency Bonaventure. He has worked at a number of Hyatt properties including his most recent tenure at Hyatt Regency Princeton in New Jersey as well as Hyatt Regency Washington, Hyatt Regency New Orleans, Hyatt Regency Los Angeles, and Hyatt Regency Saint Lucia, where Laurent began his Hyatt career as a member of the opening team.

Richard Preston has been appointed as Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa

Executive Chef Preston will be responsible for the resort’s overall culinary offerings, overseeing all dining outlets: SHOR American Seafood Grill, featuring a dramatic show kitchen and panoramic Gulf views; Swim, a casual poolside eatery with a Pan-Latino fusion menu; Skimmers, a grab-and-go coffee station by day and lively lobby bar by night; and banquet as well as in-room dining.

Dianna Upton has been appointed as Director of Sales - Africa, Middle East and Indian Ocean at Kerzner International

Prior to this appointment, Upton served as Director of Sales for Cox & Kings for 10 years, where she was responsible for cultivating new relationships while maintaining existing strategic travel agency relationships and developing and promoting brand awareness within North and South America. Upton also worked at Abercrombie & Kent for over 12 years where she oversaw and managed an Operations team of over 15 staff members.

Tom Mulroy has been appointed as General Manager at Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport and Cruise Port Hotel

A returning alumnus, Tom joined HEI as director of services for the Marriott in Boca Raton, Fla. in 2000. He gained additional experience with upscale hotels as director of rooms for the Fort Lauderdale Grande Hotel and Yacht Club. Prior to his return to HEI, Tom was with The Procaccianti Group as general manager of the Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel and the Marriott Palm Beach Gardens. His years of experience in eastern Florida made him a natural choice for the general manager’s position at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport and Cruise Port Hotel.

Dan Bettencourt has been appointed as General Manager at Embassy Suites Orlando Downtown

Dan’s 14-year hospitality career started in food and beverage, where his talents quickly earned him a high-profile position as the catering operations manager for the Washington Convention Center. With Weingardner & Hammons Hotels, he served a two-year assignment as general manager of the Embassy Suites Williamsburg, where his skillful leadership elevated the hotel’s performance to the brand’s top 30 percent. He also managed a $3.2 million renovation of the property, establishing his credentials for his next assignment: opening the Springhill Suites Hampton Coliseum in 2007. Before joining HEI this year, Dan was the assistant general manager at the Hilton Garden Inn in center city Philadelphia.

Robert Muehlich has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at JW Marriott Hotel Miami

Prior to his appointment at the JW Marriott Hotel Miami, Muehlich served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Miami Marriott Dadeland Hotel. Preceding that, he worked as Director of Food and Beverage for the Setai in Miami Beach and the Rosewood Caneel Bay Resort on the island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Muehlich was also the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage for the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort & Spa in Dana Point, California.

Chris Bracken has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Doral Golf Resort & Spa (a Marriott Resort)

Bracken most recently served as director of sales and marketing for the Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club in Redondo Beach, CA. Prior to his move to the West Coast, Bracken worked extensively around the Sunshine State in various sales and marketing positions – from vice president for Visit Jacksonville to the Don CeSar Beach Resort in St. Petersburg and the Sawgrass Marriott Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra. While at Sawgrass, Bracken liaised closely with the PGA Tour during the annual PLAYERS Championship golf tournament – experience that will come in handy at Doral, home of the PGA Tour in Miami for the past 50 years, most recently with the WGC – Cadillac Championship. Bracken began his career in hospitality with Marriott, working at such properties as the Biscayne Bay Marriott, Marriott’s Hilton Head Resort, Camelback Inn and more. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Wisconsin.

Alina Molina has been appointed as Vice President Human Resources at Fontainebleau Miami Beach

Prior to her role with Fontainebleau, Molina was Vice President of Human Resources at Turnberry Associates, overseeing all human resource functions including hiring, placement, organizational development, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, and risk management. Molina has nearly 20 years of human resource management experience that spans the retail, sports entertainment and hospitality industries. Prior to joining Turnberry Associates in 2003, she was Executive Director of The Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six in Fort Lauderdale. She has also directed the human resources departments for Miami's Pro Player (now Sun Life) Stadium, Williams Island and the Omni Hotels Hotel in Coral Gables. A Miami native, Molina holds a degree in hospitality management from Florida International University in Miami. Her professional affiliations include the Society for Human Resources Management.

Joel Palleschi has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at the Doubletree by Hilton Grand Biscayne Bay

Palleschi began his hospitality career in 2006 as a sales manager for Interstate Hotels and Management Company at the Hilton Crystal City at Washington Reagan National Airport. He joined Hilton Worldwide in July 2007 and relocated to Miami as a sales manager for the DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay. His strong leadership skills and hard work ethics contributed to the hotel’s recognition as 2007 Circle of Excellence “Hotel Team of the Year”, an award presented within Hilton to those hotels that go the extra mile and achieve.

Steven Adams has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at Hotel Duval

Steven Adams has been promoted from Head Coach of Shula’s 347 Grill to Director of Food & Beverage of Hotel Duval. Responsible for the entire food and beverage experience throughout the property, including Shula’s 347 Grill, LeRoc, in-room dining and Level 8, Adams brings more than a decade of food and beverage experience and has been a part of the Hotel Duval team since preopening. Before joining the Hotel Duval team, Adams was the director of food & beverage for Georgian Terrace Hotel and general manager of the hotel’s Livingston Restaurant. Other positions Adams held include food and beverage director at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Buckhead and manager at Kyma & Atlanta Fish Market, both in Atlanta, GA.

Philippe Thevenet has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Conrad Miami

Prior to joining Conrad Miami, Thevenet worked, since 2007, as director of sales and marketing at the Conrad Indianapolis, in Indiana. He began his career with InterContinental Hotels in Paris, France, and later moved to Montreal to begin his service with the Hilton Worldwide family. In October 1999, he moved to Chicago as sales manager at the Drake hotel, and in 2001, he became the hotel’s assistant director of sales. From 2002 to 2007, Thevenet took the helm as director of sales business travel and leisure for several Chicago properties including Hilton Chicago, Hilton O’Hare, Conrad Chicago, and Palmer House.

Monique Ladjili has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Marenas Resort in Florida

Monique Ladjili was previously director of sales & marketing for The Ritz-Carlton, located in Santiago, Chile. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Ladjili served as director of sales & marketing for the Cheeca Lodge & Spa of Islamorada, Florida. Ladjili has led the sales and marketing programming for luxury hotels and resorts in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, the Florida Keys, and in Phoenix, Arizona. Earlier in her career she served as director of international sales for a hospitality management company. A graduate of the College of Marin in California, Monique Ladjili is fluent in multiple languages, including Portuguese and Spanish. She has relocated to Sunny Isles Beach.

Jamie Jordan has been appointed as Director of Sales at the Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa
