Canopy by Hilton, Hilton's (NYSE: HLT) lifestyle hotel brand, announced the addition of Canopy by Hilton Philadelphia | Center City. The 236-room hotel will open this spring at 1180 Ludlow Street as part of the East Market development in Center City.

Canopy Philadelphia is designed by BLT Architects and developed as an adaptive reuse of the historic Stephen Girard Building. Its design will pay homage to the rich history of the city while infusing a hip, modern look and feel.

The hotel will feature a signature restaurant — an American brasserie with French influence — and a sophisticated bar program. Guests will also enjoy the signature Canopy welcome gift and evening tastings, which showcase local drinks and bites.

Canopy Philadelphia will provide an array of amenities to suit guests who are looking to work, exercise and relax. Several include Canopy bikes, a fitness room and approximately 3,600 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.

Located in the East Market neighborhood of Center City, Canopy Philadelphia is conveniently situated between the city's historic and business districts and is in close proximity to popular destinations such as the Liberty Bell, National Constitution Center, Reading Terminal Market, Philadelphia Fashion District and the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Bounded by Market, Chestnut, and 11th & 12th Streets, the East Market project has transformed the city's primary east-west corridor into a dynamic full block of leading stores, popular restaurants and creative office spaces, including Design Center Philadelphia, MOM's Organic Market, Wawa, Iron Hill Brewery, City Fitness, District Taco and WeWork. The project also includes two brand new luxury apartment towers — The Ludlow and The Girard.
