Old Town's first new hotel in more than a decade celebrates opening and debuts signature restaurant, rooftop bar and amenities.

Old Town Scottsdale's first new hotel in more than a decade debuted on October 1, ushering in a vibrant Southwest energy infused with mid-century modern sophistication to the neighborhood, along with a new signature restaurant and expansive rooftop bar and lounge.

Designed as a natural extension of the surrounding arts district, Canopy by Hilton Scottsdale Old Town, the new 177-room hotel at the northeast corner of First Street and Marshall Way, boasts spacious guestrooms and suites that strike a balance between contemporary elegance and impeccable design and features approximately 2,000 square feet of meeting space.

Eat. Drink. Smile.

With the hotel opening comes the debut of two new dining venues under the direction of Valley Chef Patrick Gaudet. Cobre Kitchen + Cocktails, the hotel's signature restaurant located on the ground floor, is an American brassiere inspired by the Southwest and features thoughtfully curated small and shareable plates highlighting local flavors, while the craft cocktail program offers a modern, yet familiar twist to the area's thriving cocktail scene. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant and bar's aesthetic embodies the vibrant and energetic persona of the surrounding city with floor-to-ceiling windows, dramatic arched wood ceilings, contemporary furnishings, sleek marble countertops and subtle touches of copper throughout, harkening to the restaurant's maiden roots. Within the bar is also a grab-n-go counter offering locally roasted coffee and artisanal breakfast treats and pastries.

Outrider Rooftop Lounge, Old Town's newest rooftop pool and bar perched atop the hotel's seventh floor, elevates the Scottsdale social scene, offering a sophisticated, laid-back ambiance with unrivaled views of the iconic Camelback Mountain. Focused on delivering posh plates and innovative, locally inspired cocktails, Outrider thrives off of the unmistakable energy and unique artistic charm that pulses through the streets below. Offering 180-degree panoramas of the surrounding vistas, guests can enjoy casual seating, private cabanas, a roaring fire pit, social spaces with turf and a seat at the custom bar that shares the spotlight with a photo-worthy, desert-inspired mural.

During the hotel's initial opening phase, Cobre will have a limited, scaled-back menu for all meal periods and will implement distanced seating and Hilton's CleanStay procedures. Likewise, Outrider will be open to the public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. to start with limited food and beverage service from Cobre. However, the pool and cabanas will be open for hotel guests and those who purchase a Resort Pass. Expanded hours and offerings for both venues will be announced in the coming weeks.

Locally Inspired Design

Taking direction from the fine arts and artisan community surrounding it, Canopy by Hilton Scottsdale brings Old Town's personality indoors by intricately combining dramatic natural elements with curated artwork by local artists and a rich color palette inspired by Arizona's sun-drenched vistas. Designed by Dallas-based Studio 11 Design, furnishings throughout the hotel mimic an upscale, yet familiar ambiance, while connecting to the local environment through rich crimson and deep gold pops of color. A variety of wood and metal tones are incorporated throughout the space to stay true to the Canopy brand.

The hotel's guestrooms blend a mid-century modern aesthetic with an appreciation of simplicity and elegance of nature while paying homage to essential elements distinctive to the city. A highlight is the signature "Canopy" headboard that is fashioned from eclectic local wood and etched with copper and uplighting in order to replicate the sun retiring behind Camelback Mountain.

The Neighborhood

Staking its claim in what is arguably the best location Scottsdale has to offer, guests will find themselves just a short bike ride or walk away from world-class dining, shopping and entertainment including Scottsdale's Museum of the West, Scottsdale Stadium and Scottsdale Fashion Square.

Canopy by Hilton Scottsdale Old Town is owned by Miller Global Properties, which is a national investment company and the parent company of Mile High Hospitality, which the hotel is managed by. Ryan Companies is the general contractor.
