Driftwood Capital Announces $11 Million Renovation of the Marriott Raleigh-Durham Research Triangle Park

Driftwood Capital, a Miami-based hospitality investment firm, has completed an $11 million renovation of the 226-room Marriott Raleigh Durham Research Triangle Park in Durham, North Carolina. The investment signals continued confidence in demand across the Raleigh-Durham hospitality market, and Driftwood Hospitality Management will continue to operate the hotel.

The renovation included a full refresh of guest rooms, the addition of an M Club lounge, an upgraded fitness center, and the conversion of the pool into expanded meeting space. The project also modernized the building systems by upgrading the HVAC and shifting from PTAC to VTAC units, with support from Hospitality Project Advisors, another affiliated company.

Located in Research Triangle Park near major employers, universities, and key transport links, the hotel aims to strengthen its appeal for corporate travel and group business. With proximity to Interstate 40 and Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and access to the wider RTP ecosystem of hundreds of companies, the upgraded property is positioned to compete as a leading choice for meetings, conferences, and executive stays.
