A picturesque escape situated on 88 acres of forest preserve tucked within the heart of Oak Brook just 30 minutes outside of downtown Chicago, the hotel offers a serene lakeside retreat for major milestones like weddings and large celebrations to local staycations, business stays and the like. Designed and architected by DLR Group, with engineering by Grumman Butkus and general contracting by Elements of Hospitality, the renovation is managed by Davidson Hospitality Design and Construction. The project is currently underway and is set to be completed by early May. Throughout the renovation, the property will remain open to guests, including hotel event spaces, the on-site restaurant and bar Hearth Lounge, and Water's Edge.

The renovated guestrooms are being transformed into a serene, elevated retreat that feels both contemporary and timeless rooted in prairie-style design. Original hardwood floors are preserved to ground the spaces in the property's rich and beloved history, while sleek finishes and layered textures will serve to modernize the guest experience. Residential-inspired furnishings replace the former corporate look and feel, complemented by accent mural panels featuring abstract treescapes and a soft green palette inspired by surrounding foliage. Original case goods will be refinished for adaptive reuse, while plush seating, sculptural lighting, and refreshed bathrooms with soft neutral tones and carefully considered lighting will create a spa-like sense of calm.

The guestroom corridors are also being fully upgraded with a modern LED accent lighting system integrated into built-in soffits at the door drops. Together, the guestroom and corridor updates create a cohesive journey where modern comfort will meet timeless character to create an overall sense of restorative calm for each and every guest.

Built within the bones of a retired corporate training campus, this adaptive reuse honors the property's Prairie-style roots and 1980s character. The renovation's design story follows a philosophy of transformation rather than demolition, creating a serene destination for leisure, reflection and celebration.
