Liora Estate Debuts in Healdsburg, Introducing a New Intimate Luxury Retreat and Coastal European Bistro
A beloved fixture just steps from the Healdsburg Plaza is entering a more intimate and intentional new chapter. Formerly known as 27 North, the 16-room boutique property has reemerged as Liora Estate, a European-inspired retreat designed for connection, where atmosphere, ritual, and emotional resonance take center stage, echoing the property’s earlier identity as Hotel Les Mars.
Rooted in the meaning of its name – “my light” – Liora Estate, part of the esteemed Foley Entertainment Group hospitality collection, is conceived as a place of warmth, glow, and shared experience. The reimagined identity reflects a shift in modern luxury travel, particularly in Sonoma County, where today’s guests are increasingly seeking meaningful escapes, from couples in search of deeper connection to small groups gathering with purpose. With its limited room count and residential scale, the Estate offers a heightened sense of privacy paired with thoughtfully curated moments that unfold throughout the day. Central to the Estate’s evolution is the debut of Maréla, a Coastal European wine bistro that anchors the culinary program in both flavor and feeling. Drawing inspiration from seaside destinations across the Mediterranean, Maréla will blend land and ocean influences through a shareable, seasonal menu, embracing a relaxed, convivial pace suited to candlelit dinners, thoughtful wine pairings, and lingering conversation. Signature offerings will include decadent dishes and riviera-inspired cocktails designed to be enjoyed communally, starting with shareables like House-made Focaccia; Lobster Salad with seaweed crostini, snap pea and tarragon; and a Liora’s Voyage selection of Miyagi, Hog Island Sweetwater and Kumamoto oysters. Standout mains include a light and bright King Crab Cavatelli with sun-dried tomato, zucchini and lemon; elegant Sole Meunière with cauliflower, sunchoke and tarragon; and Côte de Boeuf fit to split between two, featuring dry-aged meat, fresh herbs and roasted garlic. For those in the know, a discreet selection of romance-evoking indulgences will also be available upon request, offering a more evocative driven layer to the dining journey. With its warm, inviting ambiance and focus on connection, Maréla is poised to become both a cornerstone of the guest experience and a destination for the Healdsburg community.
Liora Estate will introduce a series of new daily rituals designed to create a natural rhythm – subtle yet memorable touchpoints that guide the emotional cadence of the visit to the estate. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a Welcome Aperitif, while departure is marked by a signature “Parting Light” candle, an estate-scented keepsake designed to extend the memory of the stay. Mornings begin with an in-lobby Elevated Sonoma Coffee Ritual featuring locally sourced grounds and honeys, while afternoons transition into a Daily Sonoma Wine Hour, where guests gather from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. over thoughtfully selected pours from the area accompanied by vinyl spinning in the library lounge, which boasts its own luxurious cocktail menu. As evening approaches, the Estate transforms through its signature Atmosphere Ritual at Sundown, when lighting softens, candles are lit across shared spaces, and music shifts to a slower, more romantic tone.
The in-room experience is equally considered, blending thoughtful design with moments of pause. Guest rooms feature fireplaces, wrought iron balconies, and deep soaking tubs, creating a setting that feels both romantic and residential. Each room is also outfitted with a vinyl record player and access to a curated library, encouraging guests to slow down and settle into the rhythm of the stay. A layered evening turndown enhances the experience further, with seasonal fireplace preparation, a record-listening prompt card, and locally sourced truffles presented beneath a glass dome. Complementing these touches is a collection of optional enhancements that allow guests to personalize their stay—from in-room massage and wellness partnerships to immersive bath rituals, fireside nightcaps in the library, and curated picnics set against Sonoma’s vineyard landscape. Romantic add-ons such as florals, champagne, and wine pairings are also available, reinforcing Liora Estate as a destination designed for connection and celebration.
“Liora Estate reflects where luxury hospitality is headed,” said Joe Leinacker, CEO of Foley Entertainment Group’s hotels division. “Guests are increasingly drawn to places that feel personal, atmospheric, and emotionally resonant. With just 16 rooms, Liora offers a more intimate way to experience Healdsburg—one shaped by warmth, connection to the destination, and the simple moments people remember long after they leave.”
Liora Estate remains a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, as part of their Lifestyle Collection, known for delivering unique and personal experiences directly tied to the destination. As part of this exclusive network, the property solidifies its commitment to unparalleled guest offerings and upholding the highest standards of excellence in hospitality.
