Led by Copenhagen-based studio Co.Design and Danish architectural firm KBS Byg, the initiative introduced new culinary and social destinations, refreshed event spaces, and new opportunities for guests and locals to gather throughout the hotel. Thoughtfully conceived to honor the building's maritime legacy, the redesign pairs contemporary Scandinavian aesthetics with modern comforts while strengthening its connection to Copenhagen's waterfront.

Highlights of the Renovation

• Year-Round Outdoor Pool and Relaxation Area

• Designed as a year-round retreat, the space features a heated outdoor sitting pool, a rare amenity in Copenhagen, complemented by a relaxation area overlooking the harbor. The addition offers a tranquil escape within the city, creating a new leisure setting at the heart of the hotel.

• aye aye: A Waterfront Dining Destination

• Among the renovation's most significant additions is aye aye, Admiral Hotel Copenhagen's signature restaurant, where Mediterranean influences meet Nordic ingredients through a menu centered on open-fire cooking. Designed as a destination for both hotel guests and Copenhagen locals, the restaurant draws inspiration from traditional boathouses, reflecting the property's maritime heritage through a modern lens.

• Integral to the experience is aye aye’s acclaimed wine program, curated by Wine Director Christoffer Schwarz-Nielsen and anchored by an extensive new cellar. In 2025, the program earned a Gold Star for Best Newcomer Wine List at the Star Wine List of the Year Denmark awards.
