The Elora Mill Just Got More Remarkable — The Walser Building Opens This Fall
The Elora Mill is proud to announce the opening of the restored Walser Building this October, a landmark addition and the 8th heritage restoration on the property, making it one of the most anticipated hospitality expansions in Ontario this year. A building that has stood at the heart of Elora since 1851 will now host nine new hotel rooms, each one shaped by the same reverence for heritage, craft and design that has defined the Elora Mill.

Built as a manufacturing hub in the mid-19th century, the Walser Building survived fires, changed hands across generations, and spent two decades as a roofless ruin before Pearle Hospitality acquired it in 2017 with a single purpose: to give it the future it has always deserved. Working in close partnership with the Township of Centre Wellington, the restoration has kept the building's essential character intact through careful craftsmanship and using the same traditional masonry technique seen throughout Elora - down to the bones, the proportions, the weight of its history - while filling it with new life.
At the crown of the building sits the premium Walser Suite, a top-floor retreat unlike anything else in the village, with sweeping views of the gorge, an outdoor terrace and private dining room. The main level will host a Bardō, one of Pearle’s sister restaurants, and the bottom level will be the Riverview Room with a modern design that makes it a unique gathering and collaboration space ideal for corporate retreats and interactive dining.
Each deluxe hotel room in the Walser Building will have access to an extraordinary feature: an exclusive rooftop hot tub perched above the gorge, with views that fully reward the journey. The rooftop can be used exclusively by a group with all 9 hotel rooms, making it one of the most coveted private settings in the region.
The Walser Building brings a new dimension to The Elora Mill experience, one that sits across the river from the main Mill property while offering its own distinct character, sense of arrival, and its own story to tell.
Hotel rooms in the Walser Building are now available to book for October 2026 stays on eloramill.ca.
