Reimagining meetings: The next generation of event spaces at Hotel Arts Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain – Hotel Arts Barcelona unveils the next chapter of its transformation with the reimagining of more than 3,500 sqm of meetings and events spaces. Anchored in ‘The Irresistible Composition’, a harmonious blend of art and culture, wellness and vitality, and elevated culinary and bar experiences, Hotel Arts Barcelona embraces the beautiful contradictions that define the city.

As part of the hotel’s comprehensive renovation, the newly redesigned venues introduce a new generation of event environments, where contemporary design, flexibility and sustainability converge to redefine the group experience in Barcelona.

A Destination For Meetings & Events

With over 3,500 sqm of versatile event space, Hotel Arts Barcelona is a destination in its own right for international conferences, executive meetings, conventions and landmark celebrations.

At its heart lies the Gran Saló Gaudí, Barcelona’s largest plenary ballroom, accommodating up to 1,500 guests. Complementing it, the Pau Casals Junior Ballroom offers an elegant setting ideal for mid-scale conferences, gala dinners or high-profile presentations. Surrounding these, a collection of ten multipurpose meeting rooms with contemporary interiors provide flexible layouts designed to ensure fluid transitions between plenary sessions, breakouts and networking moments. In addition, nine new breakout rooms will premier in Autumn 2026 across the 2nd and 3rd floors, featuring abundant natural light and flexible layouts, designed to provide each group with a distinct and tailored experience within the hotel.

Outdoor terraces, landscaped gardens overlooking Frank Gehry’s iconic El Peix, and restaurant spaces further extend the event offering, allowing planners to curate dynamic, multi-setting experiences within a single address, while a private group entrance and dedicated team ensure seamless arrivals, tailored check-ins and personalised attention throughout the event.

From pre-event planning through on-site execution to post-event follow-up, each group is supported by a dedicated point of contact throughout the entire journey, complemented by the specialised Conference Concierge team during the event itself to ensure seamless coordination and meticulous attention to every detail.

Design, Art & Identity

Conceived by Meyer Davis, with architectural oversight by GCA Architects, the redesign reflects Barcelona’s unique dialogue between sea and mountain, heritage and modernity, translated into sophisticated, functional environments that balance aesthetics with performance. Sophisticated yet highly functional, the interiors balance aesthetic refinement with operational performance.

Their spatial configuration subtly echoes the chamfered intersections of Barcelona’s Eixample district and the distinctive octagonal geometry envisioned in Cerdà’s urban plan, offering openness while fostering seamless connection and flow between spaces.

Art remains central to the experience. Anchored by a distinguished collection of 20th-century Catalan and Spanish artists and complemented by the floral compositions created by the hotel’s in-house florist, the private group entrance features the large-scale mural Entre Cartografía y Memoria by Rosa Cortiella; a powerful visual narrative that blurs the boundaries between painting and sculpture, becoming a tactile cartography of Barcelona’s memory. The conference areas are further enriched by Conexión Textil, a handloom-inspired architectural installation by Lorena Canals, introducing texture, warmth and a symbolic connection to the city’s artisanal heritage. In the breakout rooms, Eventides, a limited-edition fine art photography series by international artist Kimberly Poppe, based in Sitges, explores the liminal space between sea and sky, land and water, and day and evening. These abstract landscapes move between clarity and abstraction, evoking the fluidity of twilight while bringing serenity, minimalism and a contemplative rhythm to the event environment.

These artistic interventions position meetings not simply as functional gatherings, but as thoughtfully curated, immersive experiences, reflecting the spirit of Barcelona itself; a city that celebrates its rich artistic heritage and homegrown talent while embracing a vibrant international creative community.

Culinary Identity & Responsibility

Events at Hotel Arts Barcelona are complemented by a distinctive gastronomic identity. The hotel delivers refined culinary experiences with fully customised menus adapted to themes, traditions and event objectives. The culinary offering champions locally sourced, seasonal ingredients while expanding vegetarian and vegan options to accommodate a broad range of dietary preferences. Menus also reflect a commitment to healthier choices, including a significant reduction in added sugars.

Beyond the hotel’s walls, Arts Catering extends the hotel’s culinary expertise to off-site catering events, bringing its signature excellence and fully tailored experiences to some of the most exclusive venues in the city and surroundings. For those wishing to incorporate a Michelin-starred dimension, Horitzó by Paco Pérez brings the creative vision of the two-Michelin-starred chef into bespoke events, translating fine dining artistry into extraordinary culinary moments across carefully curated venues.

Through a partnership with local NGO, Pont Alimentari, part of Banc de Recursos, surplus food which maintained the cold chain is redirected towards social impact initiatives, reinforcing a responsible gastronomy model that extends beyond the event itself.

Gatherings with purpose

At Hotel Arts Barcelona, responsibility is approached with the same care as design and service. Mindful practices are embedded across the meeting's journey, guided by a robust Environmental, Social and Governance action plan focused on reducing carbon footprint and advancing responsible business practices. Guided by a comprehensive Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, the hotel continues to reduce its environmental impact while advancing responsible business practices.

Through Marriott International’s Connect Responsibly programme, events can incorporate carbon-conscious solutions such as the Meeting Impact Report (MIR). This tool provides measurable insights into carbon emissions and water usage linked to guest rooms and meeting spaces, while also documenting sustainability initiatives implemented throughout the event. The calculated footprint is seamlessly transferred to South Pole's platform, enabling organisers to offset emissions through verified climate action projects.

Throughout the newly renovated conference spaces, filtered water taps and hydration stations have been integrated to reduce reliance on single-use packaging while supporting guest wellbeing through effortless, conscious hydration.

Beyond environmental metrics, the hotel fosters tangible social impact. Through partnerships with local organisations such as Fundació Migranodearena, groups are invited to participate in initiatives that contribute meaningfully to the local community.

Hotel Arts Barcelona holds both BREEAM (Excellence) and Biosphere certifications, reflecting its alignment with internationally recognised standards. Every event, on-site or beyond, is delivered with thoughtful consideration for its wider footprint, without compromising the level of excellence that defines the experience.

Elevated Environments For A New Generation Of Events

By combining architectural refinement, operational excellence and embedded sustainability, Hotel Arts Barcelona positions itself at the forefront of premium MICE destinations in Europe.

More than a venue, it offers a complete ecosystem for meetings and celebrations, where design inspires productivity, gastronomy enhances connection, and responsible practices shape the future of events.
