A Savannah Riverfront Icon Enters Its Next Expression as Hotel Orielle

Remaining a member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, Hotel Orielle is Inspired by the Art of Noticing, Inviting Travelers to Experience Savannah Through a More Thoughtful Lens.

Today, one of Savannah’s most admired hotels, the Bohemian Savannah Riverfront, becomes Hotel Orielle, an Autograph Collection Hotel. In this new expression, the property centers on providing a refined yet approachable gathering place along Savannah’s iconic riverfront that invites guests to experience the distinctive and historic city with a more intentional and personal perspective.

Timeless Inspiration

The name, Orielle, takes inspiration from the 1800s three-panel oriel window, framing the world through a broader vantage point and placing an emphasis on perspective, observation, and the art of noticing. The new title reflects Savannah’s notable past, paying homage to the iconic Romantic era and a city filled with quiet elegance and a creative spirit that ignites curiosity.

The 75-room hotel is rooted in the belief that beauty and perspective shape experience. Here, every stay becomes a window into Savannah’s timeless architecture, history, arts and nature, shaped by the traveler’s unique view and interpretation of a city that’s always changing.

Moments of Discovery

Purposeful encounters are woven into the hotel experience from the lobby to the rooms to the rooftop. Live music inspires travelers to pause, while daily river/tide notes share a piece of the location's identity. Each touchpoint is intentionally meant to call attention to Savannah’s undertones, effortlessly inviting deliberate, small moments into the guest journey

The new artwork introduces colorful, inspiring pieces in various mediums, curated to evoke an emotional connection while reflecting the hotel’s riverfront setting and Savannah’s distinct character. The lobby features a three-panel mixed media installation by SCAD alumna Lillian Blades that channels the Lowcountry marsh landscape, complemented by an abstract floral painting by SCAD alumna and former professor Katherine Sandoz. Other art highlights include salon-style gallery installations, digital steampunk artwork, and a 33-foot custom graphic mural on the rooftop that blends key elements of Savannah and its maritime history.

The hotel’s hallmark experience takes place at Rocks on the Roof - the tallest rooftop along River Street - which comes to life each evening. The new signature cocktail, The Orielle, pairs perfectly with the views and the debut of the venue’s nightly ritual, introducing brass spyglass binoculars, purposefully placed throughout the space at dusk each evening to beckon curiosity and encourage a closer look at the layers of Savannah at sunset.

Its food and beverage program is also embarking on a fresh direction with Johnny Salaverria taking the helm as the new executive chef. Channeling his Venezuelan roots and a culinary career shaped by Savannah’s Southern charm and raw grit, Salaverria oversees both Rocks on the Roof and Coastal 15 Fish House. A new menu at Coastal 15 captures the essence of a welcoming Southern fish house, with seafood at the heart of the dining experience. Menu items like the Tackle Box let the ocean's harvest shine with an impressive selection of raw seafood, terrines and dips, while the Seafood Board brings the best of the sea together in a shareable format.

More on the Horizon

Although the name has evolved, the property’s heartbeat remains unchanged: providing a gathering place for locals and global explorers alike, while serving as a window into one of America's most renowned cities, unfolding in its own time.

As the property continues to flourish in its new identity, it will continue to introduce enhancements and curated programming that reflect the personality of the destination and the people who call it home. From rooftop rituals that celebrate the spirit and energy of the riverfront to collaborations with local artists and cultural organizations, Orielle’s ethos of creating moments that inspire and require a closer look into the spirit of Savannah will continue to come alive.
