Meriwether Companies Debuts Multimillion-Dollar Transformation of La Valle Coastal Club in Rancho Santa Fe, California

Meriwether Companies, a U.S. private resort real estate development firm, announces the transformation completion of La Valle Coastal Club, the 225-acre private club and resort in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., ushering in a new era for the landmark property formerly known as Morgan Run.

Located just three miles from the beaches of Del Mar, La Valle Coastal Club brings together hospitality, recreation, wellness, dining, championship golf and racquet sports within a relaxed Southern California setting. The impressive $50 million renovation by Colorado and California-based Meriwether Companies started with a simple idea to offer the world class amenities and services of a premier private club without the formality and stuffiness traditionally associated with clubs in the region.

GUESTHOUSE HOTEL

Serving as the hospitality cornerstone is Guesthouse Hotel at La Valle, a completely reimagined 77-room boutique hotel that gives travelers the opportunity to experience the property as a club member during their stay. Refreshed guestrooms and suites pair a relaxed, contemporary approach to coastal California design with natural materials, playful touches and Southern California-inspired artwork. Registered hotel guests receive access to all of La Valle Coastal Club's private club amenities.

A NEW GOLF CHAPTER

Golf remains at the heart of La Valle Coastal Club with 27 holes across three distinct nine-hole courses – Olivos, Cedros and Palmas – creating one of the most walkable and scenic golf experiences in San Diego County. A significant portion of the property-wide investment was dedicated to the golf experience, encompassing course improvements and dramatically expanded practice facilities. The former East Course, now Olivos, has been completely re-done with a new routing spanning an additional 20 acres, with new greens, fairways, bunkers and tee boxes. Cedros, formerly the North Course, received extensive bunker renovations, while Palmas, formerly the South Course, features new grassing and routing and introduces a new signature hole playing alongside a repositioned lake before reaching an elevated green.

Additional enhancements include a driving range with 40 hitting bays, new bunkers, target greens and a defined fairway landing zone. Two dedicated chipping greens complement a new 12,000-square-foot practice putting green and a separate 5,000-square-foot social putting green adjacent to the clubhouse. Members have access to instruction, clinics and practice facilities, along with The Trott Shop custom fittings by renowned tour fitter Chris Trott. Guesthouse visitors can experience the otherwise private courses through hotel golf access and stay-and-play offerings.

WELLNESS AND RACQUET SPORTS

The new Verde Wellness Center is a best-in-class hotel and club facility hosting a wide range of classes and treatments together under one roof, organized around four pillars: Fitness, Recovery, Longevity and Vitality. Offerings range from Olympic weights to group exercise classes in functional training, yoga, HIIT, circuit strength, barre, sound bath, guided breathwork and meditation. The club also offers reformer Pilates in private and semi-private settings.

Recovery and longevity experiences include Clearlight infrared and halotherapy saunas as well as traditional Finnish saunas and LIT Method cold plunges. The club proudly offers Lumati Red Light+ and 5-in-1 treatments providing advanced technology multi-spectrum light therapy, vibration massage, hydrogen breath therapy and vagus nerve stimulation. La Valle Coastal Club is one of only three venues in Southern California to offer the Lumati suite.

Its athletic offerings extend to eight LED-lit tennis courts, 12 pickleball courts and two Padel courts, supported by full-time professionals, private instruction, clinics, leagues and social play.

FROM SPEAKEASY COCKTAILS TO CALIFORNIA CUISINE

Among La Valle Coastal Club's most distinctive new social spaces is the Swing Suite, an intimate speakeasy-style lounge that offers a moodier counterpoint to the club's bountiful outdoor spaces. Botanical wall coverings, low lighting and individual member liquor lockers bring an old school private club ritual into a decidedly modern environment. A Full Swing multi-sport simulator lets members gather over cocktails while playing virtual golf and other sports.

Central to the culinary experience is the newly opened Gather California Kitchen, the club's revitalized signature restaurant and social hub. Its California-driven menu mixes club favorites with coastal influences and regional ingredients, including wild shrimp aguachile with Chino's cucumbers, summer heirloom tomato toast, spicy tuna crispy rice, West Coast Wagyu burger and Tijuana braised short rib. Cocktails include the cucumber and jalapeño Verde Picante, Coastal Elder Spritz, La Spresso-Tini and mezcal-forward Smoke & Sand. For something quicker, Oasis Café serves as the casual poolside and grab-and-go destination with fresh pressed juices, smoothies, breakfast, coffee, bowls, sandwiches and snacks. The restaurants boast incredible golf course views from the formal dining room as well as abundant outdoor patio and indoor sports bar seating.

La Valle Coastal Club went one step further with the launch of the new indoor-outdoor bar located at its expanded pickleball courts. Members and guests check in for their tennis, pickle or padel court assignments with the bartender in this laid back 1970s vintage SoCal pub.

ART WITH A SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA POINT OF VIEW

Throughout La Valle Coastal Club and Guesthouse, art has been incorporated as an essential part of the property's new identity. Colorful large-scale murals transform exterior walls with botanicals, palms and playful figures, while interiors feature contemporary works and recognizable scenes of coastal Southern California, from swimming pools and beach neighborhoods to surfers and everyday life near the Pacific. Works throughout Guesthouse and the club include pieces by famed Southern California artists such as Hank Pitcher, Jim Olarte and Andy Davis.

The overall transformation reflects La Valle Coastal Club's move away from the conventions of the traditional country club toward a more casual, active and social experience.
