Langham Hotels International has appointed Henk Meyknecht as the new managing director of its first boutique property in China - The Langham, Yangtze Boutique, Shanghai, which opened in May 2009. Prior to joining The Langham, Yangtze Boutique, Shanghai, Meyknecht’s was previously area general manager for Marco Polo Hotels China, based in Beijing. His career spans over 25 years with assignments for SAS, Hilton International, Peninsula Group and Intercontinental Hotels in Europe, North America, and the Far East. In his new role, Meyknecht's responsibilities include showcasing the property during the World Expo 2010 period.
