A veteran hotelier, Larsen joined HEI after 11 years with InterContinental Managed Hotels, where he most recently served as the general manager of the Holiday Inn San Antonio International Airport. There he directed the hotel through a $6 million renovation and led sustainability initiatives that earned national recognition for the hotel and a spot on IHG’s global green team for Larsen. “In addition to being an accomplished general manager, Scott has been leading the drive to develop San Antonio as a premier destination through his participation with and leadership of the San Antonio Hotel and Lodging Association,” said Ted Darnall, HEI’s chief operating officer. “His experience in the market and with IHG hotels made him the perfect choice to lead this landmark Riverwalk hotel.” In addition to serving as president of the San Antonio Hotel and Lodging Association, Larsen is on the board of directors of the San Antonio Tourism Council, and was appointed to the Convention and Visitor’s Commission by the City of San Antonio.
