Chris Curran has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Holiday Inn Potts Point

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) has appointed a new hotel manager for Holiday Inn Potts Point, Chris Curran. Effective today, Chris will oversee the hotel’s operations, reporting to Bill Edwards, IHG director of operations, Australasia. Chris replaces Gareth Long who has transferred to India to manage Holiday Inn Amritsar Ranjit Avenue in Amritsar, Punjab, India. Chris commenced his career in hotel operations in 1997 as a food & beverage attendant at Stamford Plaza Adelaide. Chris was also formally an assistant food & beverage manager at Rydges Lakeside Canberra before relocating to Queensland in 2004. Chris joined the IHG family eight years ago as director of conference & catering at the former Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Golf Resort & Spa, Gold Coast. In 2007 Chris transferred to Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach as food & beverage manager. In just 12 months he was promoted to director of food & beverage where his strong leadership skills and inspiring work ethic ensured the successful operation of the department. In early 2011 Chris was promoted to operations manager at Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach, further developing his solid knowledge of hotel operations.
