Mr. McArdle’s first General Manager position was with the Sheraton Hobart in Australia in 1989. Since then he has held similar positions in more than 10 countries, mostly in Asia, and includes New Zealand, New Delhi, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. Before taking up the current appointment, Mr. McArdle was the General Manager of Sheraton Chongqing Hotel. Mr. McArdle enjoys working in China tremendously because of the richness and diversity of the culture. He has also witnessed the rapid progress the country is making since his posting here 8 years ago. The hotel industry has also grown in leaps and his biggest thrill is to see so many promising young Chinese hoteliers progress and develops their career in this short period of time.
