Yonatan Kachko
Originally hailing from Israel, Yonatan was drawn to the hospitality industry from an early age. As a child, he and his parents would visit the same hotel for vacation each year. Yonatan recalls sitting in the lobby, watching the affable front desk staff interact with guests during check-in. From this positive memory, Yonatan’s interest in hospitality and its complete service mandate grew into a passion. At age 10, he knew that he wanted to become an hotelier, and pursued his higher education in hospitality at the same university where Isadore Sharp, Founder and Chairman of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, had studied. Yonatan began his Four Seasons career at the Front Office of Four Seasons Hotel Toronto. There, he mastered guest arrival and departure processes, and learned the ins and outs of daily administration. At the same Hotel, he subsequently moved into various managerial positions, from Guest Services Manager to Assistant Director of Housekeeping. With a comprehensive range of experience, including the ability to troubleshoot and manage unexpected guest issues, develop personnel skill,; and participate in revenue enhancing and budgeting processes, Yonatan relocated to an international locale, taking the position of Assistant Director of Rooms at the exquisite Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru. Dynamic Skill Set In less than a year after moving to the Maldives, Yonatan became the Resort’s Director of Rooms. In addition to overseeing the Rooms division functions, he fulfilled the role of Resort Manager by overseeing day-to-day operations for the entire property in the absence of the General Manager. With the demonstrated ability to increase guest satisfaction scores, adeptly manage human resources, and initiate meaningful programs, Yonatan took his expertise to Four Seasons Tented Camp, Golden Triangle in mountainous Chiang Rai, Thailand. As Camp Manager, Yonatan’s tenure yielded impressive results. Gross operating profit increased by 23 percent through the introduction of a new room category and overall expense controls. By implementing new food and beverage programs and daily activities, guest satisfaction scores surged to 97 percent - the highest rate in the Resort’s history. Yonatan also fostered leadership amongst the Resort’s management team and cultivated Four Seasons values throughout, resulting in the Resort’s best Employee & Management Opinion Survey assessment scores since its inception. In addition to managing the Resort’s overall functions, Yonatan interacted directly with property owners, managing ad hoc requests, presenting quarterly business reports, and obtaining approval on various capital expenditures proposals. As of January 2013, Yonatan brings such business acumen, combined with a dynamic, hands-on management style and intimate understanding of Four Seasons brand proposition, to Four Seasons Hotel Macao, Cotai Strip. Fluent in English and Hebrew, as well as conversational in Russian, Yonatan holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Hospitality & Tourism Management from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. He has also participated in Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts management development programs on personal leadership, handling guest complaints, and supervisory development, among others. Yonatan is looking forward to adding the Mandarin language to his repertoire, which is very important with the burgeoning demographic of Macau.
