Hilton Worldwide has announced the appointment of Roberto Payer as general manager of Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam. The new hotel is set to open in spring 2014 as the first Waldorf Astoria hotel in The Netherlands.
Italian born Payer brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this role, after starting his Hilton Worldwide career in Amsterdam 1969. Payer now joins the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam extending his leadership role from the highly acclaimed Hilton Amsterdam as the hotel’s general manager. An Amsterdam resident for 43 years, Payer brings a passion for the destination, knowledge of its history and its heritage, and a little Italian flare to the new hotel.
