Mansour Memarian has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Chedi Andermatt

German-Iranian Mansour Memarian, who has two Michelin stars under his belt, has been appointed Executive Chef and will head all dining operations at new luxury resort in the Swiss Alps, The Chedi Andermatt. In his new role, Memarian is not only responsible for the Front of House, but will oversee and manage the kitchens and The Chedi Andermatt’s restaurants including The Restaurant, which serves international and Asian cuisine, and the highly anticipated Japanese Restaurant with its sushi, sashimi and tempura bar. Memarian has over 14 years experience in culinary operations, having begun his career as an apprentice at the Italian restaurant of the hotel ‘Villa Medici Krefeld’. Since then, he has built up a remarkable career working for some of the most respected restaurants in Germany and Austria, including Jagdhof Glashütte where he cemented his culinary position as the world’s first Iranian Michelin star chef. Memarian also worked at ‘Der Pavillon’ in Innsbruck, where he won his second Michelin star, along with the 2008 award of International Chef of the Year. In 2010, he arrived at the United Arab Emirates to work at the iconic Burj Al Arab in Dubai. The following year, he was made Executive Sous Chef at the Shangri-La where he was responsible for managing 130 chefs.
