Kari Koskela has been appointed as General Manager at Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver

During the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games, Mr. Koskela served as general manager at the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver. Mr. Koskela spent five years in the United States from 2005 to 2010, where he honed his senior management skills as director of food and beverage for the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, and as hotel manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Washington D.C. During a longstanding tenure with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Mr. Koskela worked mainly in food and beverage management roles of various properties around the world, including Nevis (West Indies), Tokyo, Toronto and Seattle. From 2003 to 2005, he served as the director of food and beverage at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver, and would later return to assume the role of hotel manager in 2012. A native-born Finn, Mr. Koskela was first attracted to the hotel industry while working at the Intercontinental Hotel in Helsinki. In 1993, he pursued his diploma in International Hotel Management at the prestigious Les Roches International School of Hotel Management, in Bluche, Switzerland.
