Rakesh Sarna has been named MD & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL)

Raymond Bickson will step down as the managing director and chief executive officer of Tata group controlled Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), which operates the Taj Group of hotels. In its filing on Bombay Stock Exchange, IHCL informed, " Mr. Raymond Bickson, MD and CEO of the Company has expressed a desire to resign from the services of the Company and pursue his professional interests elsewhere." IHCL had re-appointed Raymond Bickson as the MD & CEO for a period of five years, from July 19, 2013 to July 18, 2018, in its annual general meeting last year. Bickson has been the MD & CEO of Taj Group for more than a decade. During a meeting of the Board of Directors of IHCL today, the board has accepted Bickson's resignation effective from 31st August 2014. Rakesh Sarna, previously with the Hyatt Hotels Corporation, will take over as the MD & CEO of IHCL from September 01st 2014, IHCL said in the statement. Sarna has spent over three decades with the Hyatt Hotels in the past.
