The Doyle Collection has appointed Frits Potgieter as General Manager of The Kensington Hotel, London with immediate effect. Potgieter joined The Doyle Collection in 2012 as Hotel Manager for The Marylebone Hotel, where he efficiently oversaw a team of 175 and the refurbishment of Pantry at 108, the hotel’s new afternoon tea and all-day dining concept. He moves across to The Kensington Hotel, bringing with him considerable experience and invaluable in-depth knowledge of the London hotel industry. Potgieter has worked across a diverse portfolio of luxury London properties including The Red Carnation Hotel Collection, The Milestone Hotels & Apartments and The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel. He graduated from the University of Johannesburg, a Bachelor in Commerce in Industrial Psychology before gaining an Honours degree in Strategic Business Management. His career started in 1999 at Brands Hatch Thistle Hotel before he moved to the Radisson Edwardian Hotels. At Radisson, he swiftly moved up the management team, before becoming Deputy General Manager of The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel in 2005 and then after great success accepting the appointment of Deputy General Manager of The Milestone Hotel & Apartments in 2007.

Jurys Doyle Hotel Group operates seven hotels and six inns in Ireland. The Group portfolio in the United Kingdom encompasses six hotels and twelve inns with an additional four inns scheduled by 2007. In the United States there are three hotels in Washington and one in Boston. In all, the Group currently has 7,778 rooms with an additional 1,317 planned by 2007. 44% turnover is generated in Ireland, 46% in the UK and 10% in the USA.
