Emil Leung has been appointed as Area General Manager at China World Hotel

Mr. Emil Leung has been appointed area general manager of China World Hotel, Beijing and will be responsible for the whole operations and services of three hotels, including China World Hotel, Beijing; China World Summit Wing, Beijing and Traders Hotel, Beijing. Mr. Leung has more than 20 years of management experience. Prior to joining China World Hotel, Beijing, he was the general manager of Futian Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen and Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Tainan. He started his hospitality career with the group as director of rooms at Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei. He has since held management positions within the group in Singapore, Dalian, Shenzhen and Zhongshan. Prior to joining Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, he held senior management positions at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong and the Grand Hyatt in both Taipei and Macau. A graduate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University majoring in hotel hospitality management, Mr. Leung was named one of the “Top 10 Prominent Youth in the Chinese Hotel Industry” by Global Hotel magazine in 2007. He was also awarded the “Golden Leader Award for the Outstanding General Manager in China Hotel Industry 2014”.

Emil Leung is an alumnus of School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University .
