Julian Wipper has been appointed as Resident Manager at Kowloon Shangri-La

Mr Ulf Bremer, general manager of the deluxe harbour-front Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong, is pleased to announce the appointment of Julian Wipper to the position of resident manager, effective 18 August 2014. Mr Julian Wipper 2MA German national, Mr Wipper started his professional hospitality career in his hometown, Cologne, in 1997. This stint was followed by overseas exposure in Washington DC and London, where he worked at distinguished establishments, such as Claridge’s, The Savoy and The Berkeley. With over 15 years of experience and expertise, he has previously worked in major cities around Asia in China, Malaysia and Thailand. No stranger to Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Mr Wipper has held positions at a number of Shangri-La properties. Prior to his recent new appointment, he was the resident manager at Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen. In 2013, he joined the newly opened Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai in a temporary assignment as service executive. Before moving up to the position of executive assistant manager in charge of food and beverage at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong in 2012, he was the director of food and beverage at Shangri-La, Kuala Lumpur. He also held the same position at Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2007. He first joined the group as assistant director of food and beverage at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur 2005.
