Viceroy Maldives has announced the appointment of Mr Joachim Schuette as their new General Manager succeeding Mr Mark Sterner as of 1 December 2014. Mr Joachim Schuette joins Viceroy Maldives following his pre-opening General Manager position at Velaa Private Reserve Island in the Maldives. Prior to that Schuette was with Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts for thirteen years moving from Resident Manager to General Manager, including four years in the corporate office as their Director of Development. A veteran of the hospitality industry with over twenty years’ experience, Schuette began his career in his home country of Germany followed by hotel appointments in Zurich, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Cairo, Qindao in China, Jakarta, Maldives, Chennai and the Philippines.
