Ester Marcaida
Ester Marcaida is no stranger to Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa as she was its resident manager in 2009-2010. From Boracay, she moved to Maldives as the first general manager of Traders Hotel, Malé, Maldives (now rebranded as Hotel Jen Malé, Maldives). Before her recent homecoming to the Philippines, she opened the very first Shangri-La Hotel in Lhasa, Tibet. Ms. Marcaida, the first Filipino general manager of the Shangri-La international chain of hotels and resorts, is a seasoned hotelier and has been with the company for twenty years. She has contributed significantly during her earlier years with the group, performing various leadership roles at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu, Sule Shangri-La, Yangon, Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort, Kota Kinabalu among others. Ms. Marcaida delightfully shares, “I am happy to be back in this beautiful island of the Philippines and look forward to more exciting times, a new season with everyone in Boracay.”
