Edsa Shangri-La, Manila bid general manager of two years, Patrick Schaub, farewell and welcomed incoming general manager Amit Oberoi in a beautiful cocktail affair at the hotel’s Garden Ballroom. A ceremonial handover of hotel keys marked the momentous occasion, as Shangri-La Philippine properties area general manager Alain Borgers led a heartfelt hail and farewell toast. While Schaub leaves the Shangri-La group and blazes new trails in Macau, China, Oberoi returns to the city from Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa, where he served as general manager for three years. A fine hotelier who rose through the ranks with an extensive background in food and beverage from hotels in India, the Middle East and the Philippines, Oberoi brings twenty years of solid experience to Edsa Shangri-La, Manila, the city’s premier city resort destination, and the very first property Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts had built in the country.
