HVS announced that Kasia Russell received her MAI Designation from the Appraisal Institute and was promoted to Managing Director of the recently opened Portland Consulting & Valuation Office. Kasia has significant hotel expertise, providing clients with appraisals and market and feasibility studies that form the bedrock for incisive hospitality decisions. Independent investors, hotel owners, management companies, and major banks represent her core constituency. Since joining HVS in 2006, Kasia has performed hundreds of hotel assignments nationwide, with a focus on hospitality markets across the Pacific Northwest. Kasia earned her bachelor's degree from Western Washington University and has front-line hotel experience at a variety of hotels, casinos, and resorts throughout the state of Washington. She is a Certified General Appraiser in eight states and has appeared as a speaker at several major hotel industry events. Since 2012, she has hosted the annual HVS Market Connections Networking Event in Portland, Oregon. A prolific author, Kasia has written several articles focusing on the dynamics, demand generators, and hotel supply shifts in the Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, and Phoenix lodging markets.
