Adrian StoppeStarwood Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Adrian Stoppe as the new General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton Penang. Stoppe brings a wealth of food and beverage and operational management experience to this new role. He will oversee all management functions at the hotel and will be instrumental in driving further revenue growth in both business and leisure segments. A German national and a fluent English speaker, Stoppe has held management positions on three continents during a varied and challenging 15-year hospitality career. His globetrotting career path so far has taken him to leading hotels in Germany, USA, Austria, Thailand and Malaysia. He began his career in 1999 as Assistant Chief Steward in Frankfurt and has steadily progressed up the management ladder. Stoppe has served in key F&B management positions such as Food and Beverage Operations Manager in a premium hotel in Washington DC, Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Le Mèridien Phuket Beach Resort and is also a former Director of Food & Beverage. He arrived in Malaysia in 2011 as Director of Food & Beverage at The Andaman, A Luxury Collection Resort, Langkawi. In this role he created effective dinner concepts for all dining areas which paved the way for promotion to his most recent position as Executive Assistant Manager at The Andaman. Under his tenure, the hotel has significantly grown revenue and improved service delivery. He directed a successful room renovation project covering 65% of the hotel’s inventory, and helped create four entirely new room categories. In addition Stoppe has developed concepts for three new food and beverage venues. A graduate of the Restaurant Management School in Wuerzburg, Germany, Stoppe has played a critical role throughout his career in hotels achieving prestigious awards for excellence. This includes the 2007 ‘Top 100 Europe Hotels’ by Condé Nast Traveler, ‘Best Sustainable Hotel Malaysia 2013’ by Asia Pacific Hotel Awards and last year, the ‘Best Restaurant Concept’ and ‘Restaurant of the Year’ at the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards.
