Golden Sands Resort by Shangri-La announces the appointment of Tane Picken as its new Hotel Manager. A hotelier with over 14 years of experience across Africa, Middle East, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, Mr Picken will assist Ms. Elaine Yue, General Manager of Shangri-la Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, in managing the daily operations and developing key strategies for the 387 guest room family resort at Golden Sands Resort. Energetic, gregarious and passionate, Mr Picken hails from South Africa. Multi-culturally attuned, he inspires and leads his team of managers to ensure that everyone is fully equipped with the right skills sets, aptitude and mindset to confidently interact with guests while achieving the global Shangri-La standards of service in delighting customers and ensuring customer loyalty. Prior to his appointment at Golden Sands Resort by Shangri-La, Mr Picken was the Resident Manager at Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa, Singapore. He also has held various senior management positions ranging from sales and marketing including cluster director of business development for a five-star hospitality establishment and various operational divisions in international hotels worldwide.
