Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, the largest full-service beachfront resort hotel on Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast, has announced the appointment of Angela Vaughn as the resort’s new director of marketing. In her role, Vaughn will help grow visibility through public relation efforts, strengthen brand standards and implement innovative marketing strategies for all brands under the Hilton Sandestin umbrella — including Seagar’s Prime Steaks and Seafood; Serenity by the sea; Sandcastle’s Restaurant and Lounge; Hadashi Sushi Bar; and Barefoot’s Beachside Bar & Grill. “Angela’s prior marketing and public relations experience, combined with her education and familiarity with Florida’s resort industry and this destination, make her an ideal choice for our team at Hilton Sandestin Beach,” said Richard Ross, Hilton Sandestin Beach vice president of sales and marketing. Vaughn joins Hilton Sandestin Beach with more than 12 years of experience in the marketing, public relations and advertising fields. Most recently, Vaughn worked as community & public relations coordinator for Visit South Walton (VSW). There, she led community outreach efforts, executed new social media programs, planned out-of-market brand activations, launched the Perfect in South Walton awards program and oversaw the South Walton Artist of the Year program. This experience will help transition Vaughn into her the new position with a greater understanding of tourism in our specialized market. Vaughn also has an extensive background with advertising and graphic design. Before working for VSW, she spent more than 10 years designing projects in print and web for clients in the banking, broadcast and real estate industries. Vaughn is also very actively involved in the local community, currently serving her fourth year on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity Walton County and first term as founding president of Volunteer Connection of the Emerald Coast. She is also an active member of Florida Public Relations Association—where she earned 2015 Communicator of the Year – Public Relations Society of America and American Advertising Federation.
