Terry Porter has been named 2016 Chairman at Best Western® Hotels and Resorts Board of Directors

Terry Porter, CHA, serves as the 2016 chairman of the Best Western® Hotels and Resorts Board of Directors. He was elected to the Board in November 2013 to represent the interests of Best Western hoteliers in the brand's District I, which includes Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Porter previously served as vice chairman. Before being elected to the Board of Directors, Porter was a brand governor representing hoteliers in central and southern Utah, including the area surrounding Bryce Canyon National Park. Porter has owned and operated the BEST WESTERN PLUS Town & Country Inn in Cedar City, Utah, since 1989. Porter takes a personal interest in his business and his community. He served on the boards of the Utah Travel Council, Cedar City Motel Association, Utah Shakespearean Festival and various Cedar City committees. He is also a participating member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, Asian American Hotel Owners Association, Utah Hotel and Lodging Association, and Iron County Lodging Association. Porter and his wife, Debby, live in Cedar City, Utah. They have four adult children and four grandchildren. Porter is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in business management.
