Jean-Marc Michel has been appointed as General Manager at Conrad Bora Bora Nui

Conrad Bora Bora Nui, the new 114-room beachfront resort in Bora Bora set to open March 2017, announced today the recent appointment of Jean-Marc Michel as general manager. Michel brings more than 30 years of experience in the hotel industry, working in seven countries and three different continents, including management positions at seven different Leading Hotels of the World properties. Prior to joining Conrad Bora Bora, Michel served as general manager of Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu, where he led the resort’s expansion and renovation of guest facilities, as well as the Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club, Kota Kinabalu. Michel previously served as general manager at Kempinski Seychelles Resort, Le Mirador Kempinski Lake Geneva and Constance Ephelia Resort Seychelles. Michel rose through the ranks and cultivated his passion for the hospitality industry while working in senior positions at high-end properties around the world, including the One&Only Le Saint Geran Mauritius, Reid’s Palace Madeira, an Orient-Express property, and numerous other upscale properties in the West Indies, Malta, France and Switzerland. Before that, he spent several years in various senior positions at One&Only Le Saint Geran Mauritius, Reid’s Palace Madeira. His vast global experience has ingrained in him a deep knowledge of how to best deliver the curated experience that discerning travelers are seeking, as well as the ability to adapt his skill set to each unique destination. A multilingual Swiss national, Michel began his career with a culinary apprenticeship in Switzerland, and later graduated from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne. Michel will be in charge of resort operations and management and will oversee the multi-million dollar re-imagination of the resort. Located on in a private cove on Motu To’opua, a small islet located off the coast of Bora Bora, the smart luxury resort will offer panoramic ocean views, 28 tropical garden and beach villas and 86 overwater bungalows, including the destination’s only two-story overwater bungalows. Additional features will include a full-service Hina Spa, a private kids club, mini-golf course, six restaurant and bar outlets including an overwater glass-floored sunset lounge, and a private island, perfect for intimate dinners, picnics and events.
