Christina Toh has been appointed as Area General Manager at Dorsett Grand Subang

Christina Toh, Area General Manager of Dorsett Kuala Lumpur is now in charge of the group’s upscale hotel in Subang, the Dorsett Grand Subang; taking over from Hugo Gerritsen who will be leaving to take up a new posting with Agora Hospitality International in Japan; one of the group’s business affiliation. Ms Toh is also overseeing the three value-led hotels under the Silka Hotels brand in Malaysia namely Silka Cheras Kuala Lumpur, Silka Maytower Kuala Lumpur and Silka Johor Bahru. Ms Toh has been with the company since September 2001 and in her new appointment, will continue to drive strategic business directions of Dorsett Grand Subang to attain greater heights. She began her sales career in the hospitality industry with the Holiday Inn Penang before moving on to the then Regent Hotel Kuala Lumpur which was later rebranded as Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur. Her last posting was as the Area Director of Sales & Marketing for Malaysia with the Parkroyal Hotels & Resorts Group before her first General Manager position with Dorsett Kuala Lumpur. Known as a strategic leader with a crisp management and dynamic leadership style, Ms Toh who is highly regarded in the hospitality world was promoted to be the Area General Manager in July 2011 and was tasked with the role of overseeing Dorsett Kuala Lumpur, Silka Maytower Kuala Lumpur and Silka Cheras Kuala Lumpur. Apart from various awards under her belt; Ms Toh also possessed the Certified Hospitality Administrator (CHA) designation, issued by the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), which is a highly respected professional credential that validates one’s advanced knowledge in the hospitality industry and holds an MBA in Hospitality Management. She also sits on the Board of Malaysian Association of Hotels as Hon. Secretary-General (2016-2018).
