Victor WooLa Quinta Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort announces the appointment of Victor Woo as General Manager. Woo will report directly to Area Vice President, Pascal Duchauffour and oversee the iconic resort, known as the original desert hideaway and favorite destination of the Hollywood elite and discerning travelers worldwide. An industry veteran with nearly three decades of hospitality experience, ranging from boutique and urban hotels to luxury resorts, Woo most recently held the position of Executive Vice President of The Bay Club Company, where he led overall operations, membership sales and revenue generation for 14 clubs in Northern California. Prior to that, Woo served as Vice President and General Manager of Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage. A key member of the opening team for the Palm Springs area resort, Woo transitioned the 444-room resort from a mid-tier property to a four-star luxury KSL Resort. Woo’s extensive career also includes management and executive level positions at Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, Claremont Resort & Spa in San Francisco, Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, InterContinental Hotel Chicago and InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Woo got his first taste of the hospitality industry from his parents who operated a popular family restaurant. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the University of San Francisco and speaks Cantonese.
