Gene Smallwood has been appointed as General Manager at The Landing Lake Tahoe Resort & Spa
Gene Smallwood has been appointed general manager at The Landing Lake Tahoe Resort & Spa. The property also is rebuilding its sales and marketing team with the return of Warren Martineau as director of sales.
Smallwood joins The Landing after a decade working for resorts in California. He brings a unique understanding of the synergy between guest experience and operational excellence to the property having spent most of his career in the revenue management, sales and marketing side of hotels. Most recently, he was the director of sales and marketing at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel and prior to that held the same position at the Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel in Orange County, Calif. Smallwood started his career with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts where he spent time working in various corporate and property sales positions.
An avid snowboarder, outdoorsman and adventurer, Smallwood is looking forward to experiencing all that the Lake Tahoe region has to offer. He and his fiancé recently relocated to South Lake Tahoe.
