Brian Hughes has been appointed as Managing Director at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa

Omni La Costa Resort & Spa has appointed Brian Hughes to lead the team as managing director. In this role, Hughes will spearhead property and revenue growth and inspire a culture of positive associate, member and guest experiences at the 400-acre, 600 guestroom resort and The Club at La Costa.

Hughes returns to Omni after serving as executive director for the San Diego Tourism Marketing District since early 2016. Prior, he spent nearly three decades in the hotel industry, including leadership roles at Omni Hotel & Resorts, Starwood Hotels and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.

Hughes has also served as general manager at Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa from 2014 to 2016 after holding the position at Omni San Diego Hotel from 2008 - 2014. Among other accolades, he was presented with the People's Choice Award in 2009, which is presented to the general manager who best demonstrates mentoring, retention and associate satisfaction. Additionally, under his leadership, Omni San Diego scored No. 1 in group Medallia in 2013. During his tenure with Omni Hotel & Resorts, Hughes consistently led each property to strong profit and market share results, while reducing turnover and improving associate and guest satisfaction.
