Maria Madrid

Maria is a senior-level global procurement, operations and supply chain executive with more than 15 years of hospitality experience. She brings a successful track record of providing transformational leadership, defining strategies and creating infrastructures that drive extensive change to dramatically reduce costs and strengthen a company's competitive market position.

In her new position, Maria will report to me, as SVP Global Strategic Sourcing, and will be responsible for the area procurement teams across EMEA and the Central Services Procurement Organization in the Brussels head office. Her leadership will be key in ensuring full global alignment and value creation in executing the Five-Year Procurement Plan across the various stakeholder groups in both the Operating and Capital expense categories.

Maria brings a wealth of experience as she joins us from NH Hotel Group where she most recently held the position of Vice President Global Procurement. In that role, she was instrumental in developing and launching the Group Purchasing Organization, Coperama Holding, which she grew across multiple countries - serving more than 1,500 hotels and restaurants. With responsibility for more than €1bn of sourcing volume, she and her team were able to successfully leverage sourcing capabilities, technology and logistics to drive significant savings and value across the NH organization. Prior to NH, Maria worked for retail chains Caprabo and Alcampo in various sourcing and procurement roles.

Maria holds a B.A. in Business and Economics Administration (Marketing) from the University of Granada and a B.A. Honours in Managerial Finance and Economics from the University of Wolverhampton, UK. She also holds a PDG (General Management Program) from the IESE Business School and completed a program in Big Data Analytics for Executive Management from the ESADE Business School.

Maria is the recipient of multiple professional awards, including Best Sustainability Procurement Project (2010 AERCE Awards) and the Innovation and Change Management Award from ProcureConEurope (Brussels 2009).
