Kumar started his initial career stint with Indian Hotels Company Ltd almost two decades back. He later worked in leading hotels in India. During his tenure at the Leela Mumbai, Starwood, now Marriott International & the Lalit he worked as the Asst Food &Beverage Manager, Director of Food & Beverage & Executive Assistant Manager - Food &Beverage respectively. He was soon promoted as Director of Operations & General Manager at the Hilton Worldwide.
Prior to this role, he was associated with ITC at Welcom Hotel The Savoy Mussoorie & ITC Windsor Bengaluru as General Manager.
