Guillermo Varela has been appointed as Managing Director at Rosewood Luang Prabang

Guillermo is a native Costa Rican and pursues 15 years of experience in the hospitality field, and for the last 7 years his roles were in Asia-Pacific.
Before joining Rosewood Luang Prabang, Guillermo worked with Aman Resorts as EAM Hotel & Residences in Amanzoe in Greece and before that as Area EAM for their two properties in Sri Lanka, Amangalla and Amanwella. He started with Aman in Bali by doing a short stint familia risation with Amanusa, Amankila and Amandari.
Prior to his appointments with Aman, Guillermo spent 4 years in Indonesia nourishing his expertise in F&B field in pre-opening and operating properties with Alila Hotels and Resorts.
F&B roles were also part of Guillermo's earlier years projects, which included conceptualization of dining/bar for Four Seasons Koh Samui and W Hotel in Barcelona.
Guillermo holds a diploma in Marketing Mix from Cornell and a diploma in Culinary Arts and Economics from Le Cordon Bleu School from Madrid
His favourite motto is "The Best leaders have high consideration factor. They really care about their people-Brian Tracy" and loves traveling, fine food and beverage, architecture and cultural events.
