Derek Morrison has been promoted to General Manager at Hilton Madison Monona Terrace
Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, a nationally recognized owner and management company and division of The Marcus Corporation, today announced Derek Morrison has been promoted to general manager of the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin. In his new role, Morrison will oversee operations of the award-winning 240-room hotel, which is connected to the Monona Terrace Convention Center.
Morrison's career in hospitality began at Marcus Hotels & Resorts' Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin as a beverage bar porter and ski lift operator while he was attending the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He went on to serve at several other hotels, mostly within Marcus Hotels & Resorts' portfolio, in various management and leadership positions. In each role Morrison excelled, earning his most recent position as general manager of the company's Crowne Plaza Northstar in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His extensive hospitality management experience includes operations, budget development and planning, revenue management, succession planning as well as coaching and mentoring of hotel managers and staff.
Morrison received a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology with a focus in consumer science, environments, textile and design from UW - Madison.
