Jayson Heron-Smith has been appointed as Director of Sales Australia at Global Sales Office

The announcement comes just as The Langham, Sydney picks up the title for a second time of Australia's No. 1 Boutique Hotel at the Hotel Management Awards 2021. Heron-Smith brings over twenty-five years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to his new role; from starting out in F&B to working as an event manager and then through the ranks of sales and marketing to his current position that he takes on today.

He started with The Langham Hospitality Group across the pond in Auckland in November 2019 as Director of Sales and Marketing at The Langham's sister property, Cordis. A challenging and rewarding role, Heron-Smith successfully led his team through the tribulations of a global pandemic; all whilst the development and preparations of launching a new 17-storey, 250-room tower; The Pinnacle Tower , took place.

Before working for The Langham Hotels and Resorts, Heron-Smith worked for companies including Hyatt, Crown Melbourne, Hilton and The Star Sydney.

Heron-Smith loves everything about hospitality including building teams, client relationships, marketing and all that goes in-between. His new role will be an exciting one with the new openings of The Langham Hospitality Group in the SEA/ Pacific region, including the recent opening of The Langham, Jakarta, the launch of The Pinnacle Tower in Auckland and the opening next year of The Langham, Gold Coast.

Along with his husband and three dachshunds, he looks forward to a new chapter in Sydney. A self-confessed foodie, trying out the new restaurants that have popped up since he last lived in the city will be top of his to-do list, and as an enthusiastic supporter of the arts and cinema, he'll be attending many of the well-awaited events coming up next year.
