Sergio Perez has been appointed as General Manager at the Kimpton George Hotel
Sergio Perez joins the Kimpton George Hotel in Washington DC as General Manager following experience as the Front Office Manager and Assistant General Manager at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC. He most recently held the role of Task Force General Manager at the Kimpton George Hotel.
Sergio brings over 20 years of experience in hospitality inclusive of hotels in Virginia, Chicago, Baltimore, and Washington DC. Prior to joining Kimpton in 2018, Sergio served as Director of Front Office Operations for the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC. Before that, Sergio had a long career with Hyatt, including holding the role of Director of Housekeeping at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill. He also has background in international openings and renovations for the Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva. He holds a strong commitment to driving performance in hotel operations, revenue and engagement through transformational leadership.
Sergio's passion for hotels began at a young age—he moved around every few years as a child, staying in hotels with his family. He lived in multiple different countries including Peru, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela, and Costa Rica. With every change in location, he got to know the back of house in each hotel he stayed in, inspiring his interest in a career in the hospitality industry.
He graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management. When not at work, Sergio can be found renovating his house, bringing his kids to various playgrounds, and riding his Harley Davidson down winding backroads. He's an avid soccer fan, supporting D.C. United as well as the international teams for Chile & Mexico. His personal motto is "Be yourself, believe in yourself, and encourage others to do the same."
